django49 Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Given my determination that I need to reduce the herd a goodly amount, that certain blonde MIII with upgraded pickups and a ton of extra parts will probably be popping up here for sale in a few weeks. I dare say it will be a better value that a red one that appears to have a fair amount of wear......http://www.hamerfanclub.com/forums/topic/62762-its-done-many-thank-yous-content/?hl=%2Bmonaco+%2Bfeynman
Boomerang~Junkie Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Don, I think everyone may have passed out for a few minutes after reading your post.

dhuber Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 The MIII shines in jazz and blues. If you're playing anything else buy something else. I like mine plugged right into the Fender DRRI. That's my opinion
django49 Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 I suppose it is going to come down to selling either that one or this one......
gorch Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 After the dust settles ... and buy a Newport III.... just for the variety. When you get your Newport III, show me how it looks like, please.
LucSulla Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 I suppose it is going to come down to selling either that one or this one...... Madre de dios!
kizanski Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 I suppose it is going to come down to selling either that one or this one...... Well, I already had that. so...
coolfeel Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 The MIII is richly rewarding guitar to play!
gorch Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Gorch, it might be a while! I've got a Shishkov in the works and then a Juke Rave amp...why don't I have the funds for all I want? LOL.Rodip, funds aside, I doubt you will ever be able to buy a Newport III since the model is/was not existing.

Boomerang~Junkie Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Don, So exactly how big IS that man cave/guitar vault of yours? You never fail to impress. Exceptional.
bcsride Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Does this qualify? Dibs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and Dibs Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
dhuber Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Does this qualify? That's beefy. Did you replace the pickups or are they stock? Are they Filtertron pickups?
django49 Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 I believe that there was a limited run of 5, maybe 6, of these with the Filtertron trio. All stock. I reckon several other Hamers will leave here before I even think about dealing that one!
Michael_B Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 TomTerrific just mentioned that the Newport was originally named the "Swing-a-Billy". I guess someone decided to make a few that lived up to that. I'm a big fan of that Great Gretsch Sound. What kind of filtertrons are those?
cmatthes Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 TV Jones of some variety, I'd imagine..."TV Classics" maybe?
Pieman Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Don't forget this clean MIII on consignment in Minneapolis, which has been there for about six weeks or so.http://www.guitarrodeo.com/used-hamer-monaco.html

Tombo speaks favorably of that dealer too...Great guitar for those who don't get along with P-90s so much!
gorch Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Yes, classic Monaco. It's a candidate for Phat Cats though.
gorch Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Does this qualify? Qualifies in part. What's the top? It's not spruce, is it?
