Email back in regard to its condition:

It's pretty clean all the way around. No headstock repairs to report. Below average fretwear. Great playing guitar! Thanks for your interest

So, so tempting.

If you have any feeling whatsoever that you'll be getting the hair metal gig, this is a no brainer.

At $399, you're paying back-up money for a guitar that will challenge your #1 in terms of quality, playability, and sound.

Somewhere, Brentrocks posted a few youtube videos of my Diablo when I sold him mine - I had SD Custom Custom and a Pearly Gates pickup installed, if I recall.....of course, Brent made that guitar WAIL and I regretted selling it since....

Well, done.

Two weeks from now, expect to see several more things for sale around here, lol. Pretty much anything not currently helping make money is going out the door.

Lol, then they will go too! I'm finding that the only stuff I truly will not part with are instruments that:

A. I really enjoy playing and do so often (turns out, I take no joy in collecting unless I also play them).
B. Would be difficult to replace should I have seller's remorse.

With my luck though, Hamer prices will skyrocket in the next two years. They already seem to be ticking up.

For the money, I'd have a new backplate fabricated, fill-in the wood, and put some GREAT pickups into this rocker and you're set!

For that money, I could live with that!

If that's the new rule then,

FS: every guitar-related thing I own!

He came off the price equal to what of a new backplate would cost and made sure that was the worst of the cosmetic damage. I figure if I'm going to be gigging with the damn thing, a couple of old dings will just make the new dings less painful.

And hey, people pay good money for dings these days!

Lots of Strat players prefer to remove the trem cavity cover anyway.....

Skip the fill-in-the-wood part and play it as it is, battle scars and all.

I remember seeing the 'mats many years ago where Tommy was rocking a bass that had his guitar cord coming out of a HUGE ball of duct tape where a very, very large chunk of wood had once been. It just doesn't get better than that.

LucSulla, congrats on the new guitar! Great score!

Find a nice German made floyd rose. May need a German nut too but I couldn't see that. Someone took off the good hardware I suspect.

Ah, I took LucSulla's post at face value, assuming that he was looking at getting rid of things like roommates, small children, unemployed relatives staying in his basement, etc.. Anything not helping make money was out the door. At least, that's how it worked in my family. ;)

If he meant guitar-related stuff that's not helping make money, well, that's different. I'd definitely need to purge all of my guitars and relate equipment if that's the case. Given a choice, I think I'll keep the latter and purge the things that I referred to under my previous assumption. ;)

The bar is really low for making money. "Playing this guitar got me a free well drink. IT'S MAKING ME MONEY!"
