srvwannab Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 I plugged my TV Yellow BCR Jr. into my Mesa TransAtlantic last night. I am once again reminded what awesome guitars these are. I've toyed with selling one or two of them (Do I really need one in every color??) over the years and I'm glad I haven't. Its like if your single-coil pickup had a volume that went put up to 15. They can be smooth, they can bark. Perfectly balanced. Awesome Guitars!
kizanski Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Well, if you still have #13, I'd like to get it back.
srvwannab Posted March 11, 2015 Author Posted March 11, 2015 Which one is #13? Plus, Santa gave them to me. I've even got a picture of it.
srvwannab Posted March 11, 2015 Author Posted March 11, 2015 While we are at stuff we want back... I can't believe I ever sold this guitar...

G Man Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 While we are at stuff we want back... I can't believe I ever sold this guitar... That one currently resides with me. Killer guitar, although I removed the poker chip, which I saved on wax paper. I could be talked out if it for the right deal, if you really want it back.
srvwannab Posted March 11, 2015 Author Posted March 11, 2015 Wow. Two guitars that people let get away that they'd like back. Maybe we could make this happen. Send me a PM Kizanski if you are serious.
cmatthes Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 I'm sure that one looks WAY better without the switch washer! It just never looked right to me like that...Those Jrs though - perfection.

chromium Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Probably a dumb question, but is this one of the BCR Juniors?http://www.gbase.com/gear/hamer-studio-2005-tv-yellowThat ones been tempting (or taunting) me...
Hamerica Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 +1 for the BCR Juniors. "Rock and Roll Machines those are." A vintage Junior or a BCR Junior and a Gibson Ranger brings back some very fond memories. Hamerica

The guitar gods must be happy.
hamerhead Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Killer guitars and a great looking trio there. You're a lucky man.Mine has a Sustain Block in place of the wraparound, but is otherwise BCR spec. Jay cooked up a pickup that took it over the top. It's amazing so much can come from such a simple guitar.

Is that the one with the checker back plate and case? Chambered? I remember it being up for sale but I don't remember a NGD from you so I may be confused. If it's the same one I believe MirageJake may have owned it as well. Or I may just be inhaling too much vapor.

And there's no such thing as inhaling too much vapor, unless of course we are talking paint fumes.
velorush Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Some day in my perfect world the orange Junior will reside beside the orange Senior (at my house, of course - it's MY perfect world!).
cmatthes Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Probably a dumb question, but is this one of the BCR Juniors? http://www.gbase.com/gear/hamer-studio-2005-tv-yellow That ones been tempting (or taunting) me... No - the BCR run had thinner headstocks and the "vintage correct" old style, lightweight tuners. That looks like it's just a rather nice TV Yellow Junior.

Wish I could have pursued that one, but timing was rough with the holidays. Oh well- maybe one of these days!
kizanski Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 I love this place! A couple of nudge posts and a few PM's later, and this is on the way back to me... 12 years after I ordered it! I love this place!
