Someone snag that one and keep it in the HFC family!

AGREE - after reading that ad, I want to buy this thing, and I'm not a fan of Floyd-equipped guitars at-all. Boomers, STOCK electronics, and Factory Documentation? How does one go wrong with this?

Howdy old friends! I did just bring this one home. Im not a Floyd guy and i have way more than i need, but they really don't make them like this anymore and I have nothing like it. Unfortunately, it is not in playing condition. The action is extremely high as is the Floyd. The guitar has not been played since the 90s. Im taking it to my luthier for a setup to get it right. In guessing some of you were contacting the seller, so he wouldnt sell it for tree fitty. He also did a little search before I, met him and saw this thread. Wasn't worried about selling it so he wouldn't adjust the price for the setup. I'll decide whether to keep it ir sell it after it's all set up properly and playing like buttah.

Oh, this one reminded me of the Kim Keller guitar.

I figured that was in your stomping grounds, DE!

Cool glad to hear you snagged it Dave. Enjoy the honeymoon with it once you get it back ftom your luthier. Even if you end up with $1500 into it with strings and setup you should be able to at worst recoup your money. It does remind me of Kim's Cali a bit now that you mention it...must be the figuring and finish.

I'd love to get a tone report (since my maple Cali is my best sounding Hamer). Curious how the bigger body of the Chapparal will do with it (or how your back deals with it, it's gotta be a tank!).

I've been elsewhere. :-) Playing strats and PRS mostly. Tanked the old acoustic duo. Joined new bands. Even played bass for a year and a half in a great country band. Reformed the old wedding band. Crashed and burned within a year but I was already on my way out and had an audition set up. Kept the singer for our acoustic duo that is doing really well. Mama Drama Group on Facebook: Mama Drama Acoustic Duo - Heather and Dave Columbus Ohio

Formed yet another band. Slower start, but I still have more gig's than I need between the duo and band plus filling in with other projects. Played a number of solid country club gig's last year. I enjoyed getting to play my quiet fingerpicking tunes. They tried to book me this year, but my duo was already booked every Friday I had open through August. So it goes.

Other than all that, just working and eating. Cool vacations with the Mrs. of almost 27 years. Son turning 24. Life.

Surprisingly this guitar didn't feel crazy heavy. I need to put it on a scale, but I'm guessing 8.5 lbs. I've been playing do much acoustic that I can't accurately judge electric guitar weights...

Oh, I forgot to mention Alice.

Notice the awkward unrequited fist bump, but Alice does get up and sing:

We also played School's Out after his talk on the glory of white castle sliders, but he was surrounded and didn't get up and sing. But I got to wank a bit.
