If that doesn't end up in the HFC, I'll be very disappointed in all of you.

I and another Seattle dweller both inquired. I received no response but my buddy did. He is supposed to P/U this afternoon but apparently the seller called and upped the price due to response. I hate it when that happens ;( Not sure how much it went up.

Upping the best rice is bad form oh well

That'll happen if you over-cook it.

Gotta cut seller a lil slack $500 is REALLY underpriced for that and we all know it. Anything under $700 is a bargain based on the looks of the photos.

Ummm....bullshit.

If you don't know what it's worth, do an ebay search.

Upping the price when you finally gain some knowledge is bush league.

Yeah, but so is Craigslist, so.......

This is true and also supports my point.

Yeah kinda crappy to make a deal, agree on a pickup time and then raise the price. Apparently now he is rethinking the sale all together. Too bad.

Didn't say it was "right" but I will agree seller should have researched things a little better and it is Shitty to pull that after an agreed upon sale.

Apparently now he is rethinking the sale all together.

Because he's revealed himself to be a cockhead and no one will deal with him now.

A satisfactory comeuppance, I'd say.

Perhaps he should go sit on a diggerydoo.

Call him stupid, but he did get a free and accurate market appraisal.

How did he get this? All he apparently got was the message that he priced it too low, in the form of a flood of eager buyers. That doesn't tell him where it SHOULD be. If people offered more for him to welsh on the deal, that does give an indication, but only to the point of beating the previous price.

I chatted with a coworker today who had advertised his airplane for sale last week. I asked how it was going, and we agreed that since he had had several inquiries, he had probably priced it about right. Multiple people competing to get their check in his hand would have indicated that the price was low, and total silence would have indicated that he had probably priced it too high.

An auction would have been a better way to go to let the market show the maximum price, but since eBay sucksTM, no wonder he went the CL route.

I'm guessing someone offered him "market" for it. I would have, if I were after it. We can't really know, but he got gunsmoked by somebody's advances.

The lesson I'm taking from this is that the best chance for getting a good mis-priced deal on CL is if someone local can spot it quickly and arrange a deal immediately. If the ad is up for any length of time, other folks will be in contact and the risk of a change of mind skyrockets.

Probably the reason the dude with the $450 Studio a couple of hundred miles from here (http://jacksontn.craigslist.org/msg/5098902038.html) never got back to me last week. Either it's sold, or he's raising the price. The ad is still up, but radio silence. CL inhales vigorously, too.

Exactly what happens when someone posts a PSA.

Hamer for sale: $500

PSA: Look at how low some idiot priced this Hamer

Hamer for sale $1000

Well I'll just quit doing that then.

It's a double-edge sword - I don't need it, but would like to see somebody here get it. But then after it's posted here.................
