atomicwash Posted October 5, 2020 Author Posted October 5, 2020 The SC evolution. The recent Ebony top single cut was the first III. I requested more beef in the bass side upper bout while using the SCII cutaway profile. @Northfield is amazing (and fun to work with!). I have to catch my breath every time I walk by these SCIII guitars. Wow... just wow. Yes, Paris Custom is just my nickname for the body profile. It had to fit in the case cavity.

A pic like this comparing the single cut variations from the same or similar angle is exactly what I was hoping to be able to reference when my number comes up. All 3 look great, but there is one especially that keeps catching my eye.
Toadroller Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 It's amazing how striking and evident the differences are despite the minor changes they really are. When I visited Shishkov World HQ during 96's gestation, Mike placed a series 2 body on top of the series 1, and it was a 1/16th of an inch here on a curve and an 1/8th of an inch on a curve there.
soli'd Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 @atomicwashis the top carved or flat? In some pics it looks rounded on top, but I can't tell if it's just the way the light is hitting the foil. I'm thinking this model would be awesome with a flat top but bent or "dropped" at the forearm...

They both seem perfect that way... like the ‘79 Sunburst I used to own, ‘cept dialed in just right. BONUS: The gold foil doesn’t show finger marks! I have a silver sparkle Tele that is smudge proof also. Owning a few black guitars, I can really appreciate this feature.
bubs_42 Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 It is all about those little details. Love the GOLD LOGO!
atomicwash Posted January 28, 2021 Author Posted January 28, 2021 Here's the gold foil in a distanced, parking lot gig at the Harmony Bar in Madison. The SCIII is one fine looking guitar. Damn!!
bubs_42 Posted January 29, 2021 Posted January 29, 2021 Keep the images coming of the Paris Guitars. These are a pair of masterpieces!
Jakeboy Posted January 29, 2021 Posted January 29, 2021 The Paris looks AWESOME on a strap! And that looks like a fun gig!

DBraz Posted April 19, 2021 Posted April 19, 2021 I like the comparison shots between the evolutions of the Shishkov Single Cut. The third version (in this thread) is without question my favourite.
bubs_42 Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 I ordered mine during version 1, by the time the chips were ready to fly we were on version 3 and I could not be happier. These two came out amazing and I cannot wait for mine to be completed.
scottcald Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 You definitely win the instrument coolness contest at the gig! Looks even better when it's being played.
PFunk Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 I just saw you guys (and guitar) on the 5:30 news. Congrats on the works and nominations…
atomicwash Posted October 15, 2021 Author Posted October 15, 2021 I can't believe I've had Gold Foil for over a year. What a great guitar! I love the no switch wiring. The neck pickup uses a blend pot and I generally add neck presence to roll off treble instead of using the tone pot. It's a great combination.
