No - the OP pics were the standard 1989-91 catalog model, flat-top Sunburst.Ā Available in either Sustainblock or Floyd Rose, and most of the ones I've seen have been black. The HFC limited edition version was the "SB-77", and was offered in highly flamed (or quilted) tops in '59 Burst using NOS gold Sustainblock bridges left over from the 1990 models and limited to the orders placed at the October event that year.

The only one I recallĀ seeing on the HFC all these years was the one owned by HFC memberĀ Stratacus ,which I tried to buy but in the end he wisely decided to keep it.

Well, that's the way books are made. No complaining. We can count ourselves lucky about The Book (and many more other books in general) came into existence as it is, at least. Thanks for that!

Did the SB-77 āReissueā have the thicker maple cap of the Special FM as opposed to the thin veneer of the original Sunbursts? Ā I think I remember seeingĀ at least one or two limited run Special FMās with body binding. Were these reissues more like those with full B&C treatment and a sustain block? Ā

Ā The Sunburst SB-77 has book matched veneer instead of theĀ single piece veneer that was on the originals. SB-77
