Soundgarden live 2012 AM Ring.
Jimbilly replied to Saul Goodman's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
I think a new album is coming out, I very recently happened to see the Trace Elliot bass amp that was loaned to them, and used on much of the new 'record'. I remember (if it's correct...) walking around downtown Seattle way back in the 90s and they were playing in small club near Pioneer square, too packed to get in, but you could hear some of the muffled/garbled on the street -
I had both Vol 1 and Vol 2 of those. Sold them when I collected the Sab catalogue.

SoundGarden put on a show in Sioux Falls at a brand new Washington Pavillion. They had the crowd bouncing so hard the Balcony started to give way. Now that a Rocking Band!!! -
It plays like butter...damn you Kizanski!

When I hear "plays like Butter" I interpret that to be very low action fast and easy to play. I've also heard "smooth as Butter" same meaning. As does "tuned by Angel's" which has nothing to do with Butter. But means the same as the butter statements. Then there's the gotta fight it a little. Which has nothing to do with fighting! So expressions about how a guitar plays really are not very good, but for some reason all guitar players understand them. So that brings to question "do guitar players have their own language" I dare say "Yes...Yes they do! So Crank It and Melt some faces!!! -

I can tell you what butter plays like. It plays like a 1980 Gibson "The Paul." - Today

So, it never used to bother me when someone writes or states that a guitar "plays like butter". Then, I noticed that my buddy Mike (Kizanski) was really aggravated by it. After mentioning it a thousand times or more, it started to bother me too. It's gotten to the point that I want to reply, "What does butter play like". I prefer beef tallow, but that's for a different conversation entirely! Hopefully, nobody will start a new, and no less problematic statement, "It plays like beef tallow"... 😎

I know it's nothing new, but I'm 100% convinced that Jolene was recorded at 15 IPS and then Dolly did the vocals at 30. The instruments sound much more genuine at the slowed down playback. I remember seeing Dolly on some TV show doing an Alvin and the Chipmunks style singing over a song being played back at double time. : ) So this is right in line with that. I also find it incredible that her voice is able to lock at double time. Amazing voice at any speed.

Awesome band. First saw them supporting G‘n‘R. in 1992, I believe. „Badmotorfinger“ is their opus magnum as far as I‘m concerned! -

Yeah. He's kinda been phoning it In since Billy embraced the drum machine, but he did some killer stuff in the 70s. I particularly love the Tejas album, he does this paradiddle rhythm (RLRRLRLL) on the ride and snare that grooves like crazy, its all over Tejas, here at ~2:11

I had a bunch a 8 tracks from Columbia House (Kiss, Frampton, BTO, etc) but the 1st album I actually paid for myself was this comp I found in the cut out bin, probably 5th or 6th grade;

One of the advantages of building my own is the ability to mix and match different speakers and speaker cabs. And relatively smaller rigs keep up nicely with the bigger ones, for when those still pop up.....Not often in my limited venues any more. God forbid I come up with something to remind someone of C-3PO! 🤔 BTW, I did find this interesting comparison done by Robbie Hall hisownself to show added versatility of his Clean Fusion Deluxe pedal. Although pretty much a 2 channel pedal (Fender Blackface and Dumble style), incorporation of the HRM settings and some tweaking can sure get it into M territory, with plenty of gain on tap. Sounds pretty close to the Plexi to me. But what do I know? BTW, the CFD (no tubes) does compare nicely with the Fuchs ODH, actually giving a bit more "on the fly" options. All things considered, not a bad option at a fair price (IMO) even if it is pretty pricey for a pedal.

As the youngest of 4, I spent all the years up to my preteens listening to my older siblings records and cassettes. This album came out in June 1991, 1 month before my 13th birthday and it was the first (CD) I ever bought. Still my favorite of the Sammy era.

It was (or is) illegal in Germany to display NSDAP imagery. I don’t know if it is illegal in other countries. The, “SS”, in the Kiss logo is verboten, so they had to use the other font. I can respect their decision on the imagery. I mean, you don’t want the kinder tying their shoes in little knot-zies, now do ya?
