  4. 3 to 5, have you seen his current prices? Plus the pedals I replaced them with are readily available from any GC.
  5. I believe it is. I probably should have done some research. I don't recall that the promotion or previews that I saw provided any hint of the drastic change that occurs midway through the movie. I just wasn't prepared or in the mood. No psychological damage, but it pretty much ruined one weekend evening. At least it wasn't as dissapointing as the Spinal Tap sequel.
  6. For a parttime working musician like yourself I suppose that is a fair assessment of Lovepedals. But for a fumble thumbed old fart goofing in his cave, I have to say that there are lots of options available for 3-5 times as much money as my Lovepedals. Sort of like saying I could get similar results if I replaced my MIM Tele with a Suhr Classic T.

  8. Interesting. For some reason I started going in the opposite direction around ten years ago. Can't play anything smaller than about 0.87" thick at the first fret, though it's been a while since I've tested that - I sold off everything with a neck smaller than that some time back. That's another reason I started building the partscasters as most every production guitar seems to be on the order of 0.83" at the first fret. Are you dealing with hand pain, in particular? My issue is left-hand cramping when playing more involved chords - chords where my pinky and ring finger are up on the large E and A strings, for example (which, musically, is more likely an indication I need to stop spending time in the keyboard's and bass' sonic space). The maple neck on the Stretchocaster is an inch thick nut to body and I can play that one all day in comfort. The Sherwood green partscaster is just a bit thinner, but same thing, play that one all day.

  12. Lots of stuff that doesn't turn my crank hits this forum. Settle down...😇
  13. I sold it, of course. Still regret that.
  14. Could be it gets dirty/corroded over time too, but I'm with @Dave Scepter, just replace it if it's out. Or put in a kill switch. 🤣
  15. I watch all Shane's videos because he's a real, gigging musician. He'll always add that it's his opinion, but his playing's great, his tones I think are great and the reality is if you're getting gigs with names like he is, they don't care what you use as long as it sounds good and works.
  16. Hands hurt. Even the Hamer necks of the mid '90s seem too big. I really learned something about myself by buying the '61 Historic LPC. And a '93 Hamer Special. I have a solid one inch Fender neck from head to butt that I refuse to play now opting for a more '60s, slimmer taper. I'm also thinking I may opt for a smaller nut, hehe. And now I'm thinking of trying 9s. I tend to hit hard and this is giving me pain in the right-hand index finger knuckle where I cradle the pick. I'm thinking 9s may induce me to hit less. I don't know. I'm losing my manhood. Anyone made the switch?
  17. @The Shark: Good lawd & cheese n rice! The dude just took possession. Consider changing your forum handle to “DIBS” JK 😄
  18. Must be when black text is specified in dark mode, or white text in default, then.
  19. Another reason to move to the format we're testing. The "dark mode" is supposed to be for viewing, not for posting, but those of us using the default view get white text on a white background. Kinda useless. Question: Do those of you out there using dark mode get black text on a black background?
  20. Much appreciated! I have regular Imperials in a Collings City Limits and they are lovely bright punchy pickups. I've had the high wind bridge/regular neck in another guitar and I thought the high wind was barely different. Mostly been looking at the low winds because of their use in the Collings semihollows and other instruments where the chassis is darker and doesn't need a bunch of low end from the pickup. DCR aint everything but Ive always found the "middle hot" Duncans to be overly chunky and from an era when the amps didn't necessarily provide all the gain/low end you could want. With this guitar I find Im trying to get the brightness back where the Duncans just feel cloudy in that real low mid area.
