This thing has a lot going for it...very pretty top, og case and has a sustain block BUT but had a headstock repair, 5 years ago they say. Kind of looks like it was glued only, no dowels. For the price they want, I'm leaning in. It's priced like it has an ugly repair. Disclaimer is I've not seen in person, pics only. Assuming it's structurally sound I think I can make the break/repair area look better. What's concerning is the truss rod area. It doesn't look right. It looks like there's more material/distance between the nut and where the truss rod access carve and screw hole for cover should be. Also, you can see the top of the headstock had work. Must've broke clear through. What are you seeing here?

I have a Behringer XR18r and for the money, you can't beat them for small(ish) band needs. You need a tablet or laptop and a separate router is recommended, you get 18 channels, 6 aux sends, some effects and can save configs. if you go old school analog, I think a new/used Yamaha would be a real safe bet. They're nice, sound good and can be had new/used at a decent price w/ aux send(s), basic effects, compression on a few channels. I have a MG12X I bought used a number of years ago, or maybe the 16 for you? I dislike how they all count channels these days. The 12 is really 8 because they count stereo inputs as two channel. The MX12 has 8 channel faders, so IMO it's an 8 channel mixer. All manufacturers are doing that.

Since I only play at home now, I too have been down the modeler rabbit hole having owned most every one, and some more than once. I finally realized I only need a few amp sounds and a few effects so I’m sticking with 20 watt amps. At least for now.

The mixer we've been using has crapped out, so we are in the market for at least an 8 channel, possibly 12 channel, mixer that has outs for both mains and monitors. Not looking to spend a ton of money and used is okay. ATM running 4 mics and 2 inputs for keys What do you all recommend?

Robert Jon & The Wreck are a great Southern Rock band... from California. When they tour the East Coast they are one of my panned shows to see. Eric Gales lives in North Carolina, and there are opportunities to see him every year if one is willing to drive a bit. When he is within a couple of hours I can see him, and it will always be worth the time.

You nailed it! Marquee Moon is kind of its own sub-genre. The only other recording I've heard that taps into it is the menacing and much more obscure "Moonhead" by Thin White Rope, the title track being a masterpiece of rock guitar interplay that slowly builds tension to a glorious climax. All wrapped in a weird Tex-Mex gothic horror movie soundtrack vibe. Sticking with this topic, their "Exploring the Axis" debut album is pretty wonderful, too.

Same here, even though I haven't used a Fender amp for years. My son (a composer and bassist in a regularly gigging local band) laughs at me when I get a new guitar rig (amp based, stomps, plugins, whatever) and spend hours and hours recreating my same old favorite tones.

That's one of the few 70s CBGB/New Wave/Punk adjacent albums I love. There is a moodiness to it that is so unique to that album - I can only listen to it in the right mindset because it taps on that so hard. It's the same feeling I'd get as a teenager driving around late at night by myself feeling like both everything is happening and that nothing will ever happen, just chain smoking the ennui and listlessness away in my old Chevelle. I didn't really listen to it until I taught a Rock and Society class when I was a doc student at Florida in my 30s, so it's not a nostalgia thing. I'm also not generally into music from that scene, so it doesn't really touch on anything else I was listening to back in the 90s. I think when an album does that, it really has achieved something artistically perfect. I also find it very rare in the genres Television gets most associated with.

I hadn't known I wanted this guitar and wasn't aware it existed, but when I saw this ad earlier this week I decided to act quickly. New strings, no fingerprints, nothing other than a perfect (ok, special) guitar. It arrived this evening packed beautifully in a box-within-a box, cushioned to withstand the most careless baggage handler at any airport or on any truck, or any rainstorm between here and there. If you are wondering whether his other descriptions are accurate, stop. Everything with this guitar is "as described," including the first fret inlay, which doesn't bother me a bit - sorry Chris.
