Feynman Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 I think it's cool. What is it? It's not THAT cool though. http://www.gbase.com/gear/hamer-jimmie-lee...an-1987-purple#
elduave Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 I don't but I suddenly want a TLE. A new one!
Rodan Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 That's a new one by me! I like everything except that switchplate and the neck joint. That's one that deserves a Mirage I heel-blend joint, alright.Real white elephant, though.BTW, what's with the left-hand strat bridge?
Pierre07 Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 that my friends, is a true frankenhamer... or maybe were just not used to it YET
mc2 Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 ...and I thought I had the strange TLEs That one looks like it has enough player wear to maybe there might be pics of Vaughan actually using it somewhere?
crunchee Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 I've got a silly question...where did the moniker Jimmie LEE come from? Some online blogs and articles call him Jimmie Lee, but most of the time it's just plain Jimmie, I've followed his music with the T-Birds (pre-Tuff Enuff), and I've never heard him called Jimmie LEE...at least not before this. Jimmie Lee Vaughan was his and Stevie's father (died 1986, the year before this guitar was made), and Jimmie's full name is James Lawrence Vaughan. The 'upside down' Strat trem was also a mod done on SRV's 'Number One', I dunno if that would be Jimmie's style to have it done or use it like that.Edited to add: I'm not saying that the guitar isn't authentic, it might well be. Also, to me it looks a little like SRV's Hamiltone guitar, perhaps some Robin influence too, maybe that's what Hamer had in mind when they made it.
serial Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Logged in only as "TLEC PP" January 7, 1987.TLE Custom in Purple Pearl. I like it a lot. Nowhere close to $12500 much though!
cynic Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Is the output jack an optical illusion or does it really look like it's missing?I'm just sayin.....for $12,500.00 I'd want an output jack.
tbonesullivan Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 that's pretty cool. But, the reversed trem... eh. Also the price is like... ten times too high. I don't care who played it.
Pierre07 Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 I may be an ignorant guitar player but I wont even shell out $125.00 for it.
Jorge Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Maybe even Hamer would custom make you one, today, for much less.
