Ooooh, do tell! Will do. It has been getting a lot of play. The ultimate, compact, living room guitar.

A little background. Back in the 20-teens, Eric Schoenberg collaborated with Radio King on two cutaway, parlor guitars based on, "0/00", Martins. Schoenberg makes high-end OM28 and other pre-war Martin-types that cost many dollar$. I've been looking for one of these for years, and finally gave up hope to fate. I was putzing around Real Guitars SF last week and looked up. The clouds parted, the sun shone through and the angels sang. There it was! Raced home and grabbed a bagful of pedals and $300. Done. I went out to Tiburon to get a proper case for it. Eric's shop is cool. small but organized. One must tread carefully as guitars are everywhere. This is my first MIPRC guitar. It sounds/plays great, but needs to be banged on to open it up. Gonna put it on my Tone-Rite for a week, which should do the trick. Specs: O-style, 12th fret cutaway Solid Engelman spruce top Solid mahogany sides/back Thin nitro finish Ebony f/b and pyramid bridge. Grover Sta-tite machines 1-3/4" nut, V-neck

Is Chet Atkins turning over in his grave?
RobB replied to Willie G. Moseley's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
It’s a great marketing strategy. Your average consumer can’t afford $3000 for an MIJ Gretsch. I’ve owned three MIJs and they’ve all been excellent guitars. The USA custom shop in Corona, California makes mostly artist instruments, and their prices are really out of reach. Rickenbacker, OTOH, is in an enviable position. Their instruments are very sought after, with relatively low production numbers. They’ve never had to dilute their brand with cheap imports. -
Outrageous. I am outraged. Look at me: This is my outraged face.

Shipping tales - URGENT UPDATE!!!
RobB replied to santellavision's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
What is that? A font for ants? Hey, Ernie. Does Heritage cover guitars you’ve sold/shipped until the buyer receives the package? -
I have recently faced my first Reverb hiccup. Ordered is DiMarzio pickup three weeks ago and I’ve not heard from the guy. I requested a refund and now they are going after him. I should see a refund in a few days.

So: Volume, Bass, Treble and Attenuation?

That RT66jr combo looks very tempting. Does it have a master volume?
-
Put the Neo in the combo.

Looking for a headset. What do you recommend?
RobB replied to JohnZ's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
In order of preference: Shure. Mic capsules generally better than most. They always sound good, but are on the higher end of pricing. Sony. VERY pricey, but excellent. Audio Technica. Good, mid-line choice. Sennheiser. I always groan when using these live. They always seem to take hits from taxis, cops or random radio waves. Good sounding when they work. -

Sure, if it’s a wireless headset. If wired, add in another cable to trip over at gigs. -

I use a JCM800 half stack at our practice space (with a Purple Plexi +Boost cuz, y’know, MORE Marshall). Nothing else fills a room and gets THAT sound, but the travel rig gets very close.

William Shatner Is Releasing An All-Star Heavy Metal Album
RobB replied to crunchee's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
I still haven’t forgiven him for Star Trek IV, so I’m sure it will be awful. -
An ESP, “wedge-bag”(my name, not ESPs), fits Explorers, Vs, Stars and MLs. Decent quality with OK padding. I think Ritter makes something that may be similar.

Have you tried fu-tone.com?
-
I’ve landed on two: Keeley Rotary and an EHX LesterG. The Keeley is simply laid out doesn’t clobber you with secondary functions. It has a huge, “speed”, knob which can easily moved with your foot. My fave is the EHX. It has the cool compression function, and the drive sounds are very pleasing. It takes up a bit of pedalboard space, though. All said, I’m sure I could replace both with an RT-2 and not miss either.
