  1. What's the spec on the LTD version? BTW, great looking EM you've got there. Sorry, couldn't resist: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8h-R8FUKKI -- The limited edition is the best looking guitar Hamer's ever made. It's like an Ultimate with sterling silver purfling instead of MOP. Almost all of them were in red (DOH!) but I believe Greg ordered some in a couple of other colors as well (green and orange come to mind). I don't have any pictures in my archive that capture the sheer mind-boggling awesomeness of it all unfortunately. -Austin
  2. I wish I could answer, but I've never played a stock Studio Custom. The closest I've had was an Archtop GT P90 (until I swapped out the P90's for minibuckers), which was a different animal. And being a minibucker/P90 kind of guy, the 30th is my least played guitar. It feels great to play, but I have little use for full sized humbuckers. Maybe I should have figured that out before I bought it! The chambers and antiquity pickups ought to make the differences more than cosmetic though. I like to keep it around for the jaw-drops it produces when I break it out! I'm sure EM 10 produces the same reaction! -Jonathan If you ever decide to sell it, keep me in mind. Can't go higher than $350 though due to the off-center inlays. Seriously, why don't you through some Phat Cats or something in there and try to make it more suited to you? It's a shame for a guitar like that to go unplayed. -Austin
  3. It's interesting, being a smaller custom(izable) builder, it would seem that a fair number of the guitars Hamer produces would be extremely limited editions of 1 . I know one of mine is. -Austin
  4. This is the Custom Custom, not the Custom (). Anyway, I have an Aldrich set in the guitar that this used to be in now (although they are going to be replaced by a DSV/DSV+ set in a week or so). I'll give it a whirl tonight and let you know what I think. Off the top of my head, the Custom Custom has more "grunt" and less highs than the Aldrich. I actually like both, but I'm on a lower-output pickup kick right now, so I'm coverting 3 of my guitars to those (Duncan PATB/PATB3 in the 06, Suhr SSV bridge and neck in the 05, and soon to be Surh DSV/DSV+ in the 05). My 94 will be the only guit left with fire-breathers and I might end up putting the Aldrich's in that depending on how motivated I feel -Austin
  5. Happy Birthday!
  6. I thought you threw a Brobucker in the bridge of you Tally? -Austin
  7. Which Tally vs. which Newport? Anyway, if you can live with the neck, I'd give the edge to the Tally. -Austin
  8. The Shredders were pickups that WCR made for RS Guitarworks. According to Roy the neck model has one coil from a Crossroads and one coil from a Darkburst. The bridge model was supposed to be a "better JB". I believe it measures around 15K, but that's going by memory. It's a pretty nice set and I won't be too upset if I don't sell them, but I appear to be bitten by the low-output pickup bug lately, so I'm looking to go with more of a Paf/Hot Paf set than these. -Austin
  9. Only 1 left! Seymour Duncan Custom Custom: 9" lead. Was original covered and has electrical tape around the coils (not the usual black fabric tape). I still have the cover and will include it if you want to put it back on. Just let me know. $45 Paypal'd and shipped. There will be price breaks if you buy multiple pickups. Here are pics of the front of the pickups (for pics of the backs, go to: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v157/atq...s%20for%20Sale/) Custom Custom: Thanks for looking. -Austin
  10. Wow!
  11. There's been bad press about this guy for years, although when I tried some a few years ago, I got them quick. Didn't think they were anything special though. I guess Snake Oil is a fitting name? -Austin
  12. Feature set, feel and tone would be the primary factors (in that order) at this point, but that's because I'm not sentimentally attached to any of my guitars. If I had a guitar that my wife or kid bought for me, that would be the last to go (I don't encourage my relatives to involve themselves gift-wise in my guitar hobby for that reason). -Austin
  13. 2001 Vanguard. I was looking for a setneck guitar with good upper fret access (ie, a doublecut) and happened upon this. Here it is with Lawrence L500R/L500L pickups. I sold it after I won my Special at the last open house. Very nice guitar (but then, they all are ) -Austin
  14. Thanks for stopping by. Awaiting pics... -Austin
  15. YOU Rock! Everyone, click that!! BTMN. Impressive on vocals as usual. Don't have much to add to the other Korina comments other than to say my korina Studio is incredibly light; only slightly heavier than my chambered one. Hard to compare tonewise with my 94 Studio since that one has EMG's in it, but it definitely sounds great to me and can cover all the bases with the WCR Shredders I have in there. -Austin
  16. I may have to jump on that Watson! Do you think he would ship it directly to Greg so I could have him throw a Floyd into it? -Austin
  17. Cool! Now what do you have for your amps? Amp, singular. I just have an atomic 118, that I hardly ever use. I would go fine right next to the cabinet, but I'm going to try to sell it to make more space since I use my GT10 with headphones 90% of the time. -Austin
  18. Just completed my guitar cabinet! Bought for $185 from Walmart and modified a bit during the build to suit my needs. I decided to just put the cases in there since I don't really have anyplace to put them otherwise. A couple years down the line when I living someplace else with more space, I'll probably build in something to hold the guitars themselves. There's space for 6 cases inside and the hanger I put on the side lets me have one ready to go (currently the Korina Studio Custom with WCR shredders). Also, the cabinet has a built in lock although, I can't for the life of me figure out how the hell it works with the parts they supplied. A $2 part from Home Despot should fix that this weekend. Now pics! -Austin
  19. Never really paid any attention to jacks until this one on my 06. Love it! -Austin
  20. Best headstock ever!!!! -Austin
  21. Nothing wrong with Boston! -Austin
  22. Aw, whatta cutie! -Austin
  23. Sig-worthy! :D
