  1. To be honest, I haven't seen anything worth buying at a Daddy's store in at least 15 years. Sorry to see them go for all of the reasons backinit mentioned. but I will not miss the stores themselves.
  2. Good riddance I say, this guy obviously woke up on the wrong side of the bed and sees enemies everywhere. Lighten up man, you'll live a longer and happier life for it.
  3. Over the years I had myself convinced that I didn't like 25.5" scale guitars, even though I have tried many strats and teles. For some reason, when this one came up at a great price, I jumped in head first. Glad I did! Brought it to practice tonight and it sounds great in the mix, as well as with my DRRI. These big old MFD pickups are surprisingly versatile as well, lots of great tones to be had. Anyway, enough yapping, here is my 1996 US made G&L ASAT 3-bolter in CAR.
  4. Get lost wussy sailor? Or, alternatively, Good Luck with Sale, but I'll go with the wussy sailor if that works for you. Seriously though, that guitar would look great next to my jazzburst Artist Korina P90.
  5. Well there is the understatement of the year right there. Congrats to your son, that is a great opportunity. Edited to add, looks like specialk beat me to the punch line.
  6. This may not be a popular choice, but I would bet that a set of Gibson Classic 57/57+ HBs would sound great in there. Keep your eyes out and they show up used for pretty decent prices.
  7. Wow, news travels fast on the interwebs. Looks like Guitar Squid picked up the story. http://www.guitarsquid.com/Latest/amazing-...inal-owner.html
  8. Ah yes, and all is right with the world again. Glad to have had the opportunity to help out on this one and really glad a killer guitar has found it's way home.
  9. Wow, with a business model like this, I can't fathom why Fender dropped him.
  10. This one's pretty easy for me as I only really started playing electrics about 3 years or so ago, before that I played pretty much acoustic exclusively for like 20 years or so. During most of that time I have a VOX Venue 100 ss that I picked up back in the early 90s. When I started playing electric again I got an Epi Valve Jr w/a Avatar 2x12 cab that was unreasonable in its noticeable lack of tone. Next came a Blues Jr that I modded with BillM mods and a C Rex. Sounded good, but could never beat all the rattles out of it. Then got a deal on my Genz Benz Black Pearl head, added an Alpha Pup 1x12 with a Tone Tubby Alnico and rock it to this day. Along the way I have also owned a 78 Champ and a 65 Gibson Skylark GA-5, (still own,) and recently picked up a hand-wired Tweed based 18 watt 1x12 combo w? an old Stevens TruSonic speaker from the 50s that sounds killer. I am sure there are more to come, but to be honest, I'm very happy with my amps right now, although wouldn't mind picking up some sort of Dumble clone head in the future. It just never ends.
  11. Clutch - Strange Cousins from the West Mahavishnu Orchestra - Between Nothingness & Eternity John Scoefield w/MMW - GoGo Govt Mule - By a Thread Hot Tuna - Steady as She Goes
  12. Sharpie = Fixed
  13. Looking good. I remember when you put the Babicz on the tele, so you must be happy with the product to add one to the strat. Enjoy her.
  14. Oh, you don't have to be a shredder to enjoy an A5.... very versatile guitar! Very cool! I just can't get past that thing hanging from the massively oversized/overcomplicated bridge. And I can appreciate the versatility factor, as evidenced by my Phantom Custom.
  15. If I were a shredder I would be all over that one. Looks great. GLWS.
  16. I find her to be a very small step above Amy Winehouse in general nastiness. At lease Winehouse can sing. I won't let my daughter watch either of them.
  17. And you do it with such style too. Here's my contribution, not too many of these around to begin with, and this one has had the BCR treatment.
  18. My first name is Greg and friends have been calling me G Man as long as I can remember. There is also a certain irony to it, as I am now and have been for many years, a long haired hippie. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
  19. Looking great Brent, I'm especially liking the grains in that neck.
  20. I'm also running a Genz Benz Black Pearl 30, mines in a head configuration that I'm running through a 1X12 slant front cab with a Tone Tubby Alnico and it sounds huge when I want, but also tones down for late night playing when the wife and kids are asleep. Just a great all around amp with endless tone options.
  21. Sounds like a great show. That's a little odd about NMA appearing without their bass player, although it sounds as though it was still good.
  22. Well, everyone who has tried them raves about Lollar's P90s, although I haven't played them myself. I've got a set of Rio Grandes in my Artist Korina and they sound great. I've also heard that older Gibson P90s are still some of the best out there, if you can source them.
  23. Doesn't get any better than that, and I'm sure your son had a great time as well. Congrats to both.
  24. This is where we need to add a new smiley.
