That is very sad. If it turns out it was his son that did it as many are speculating, even sadder.

Pre-Reverb listing. The Rick and PRS are already on eBay for more and will stay up until Christmas or sold elsewhere. More pictures of all of them upon request. 1998/99 Guild JF30-12 12-string acoustic – natural, blonde maple back, sides, and neck. Bought new in 2001 and played about once a year since – a real Closet Queen. Never even removed the pickguard film. Like buying a 27 year-old NOS guitar. Guild hardshell case. $1800 shipped, but I REALLY don’t want to ship this one. Knock off $100 for local pickup on this or any other guitar on this list. 2011 Paul Reed Smith Custom 24 10-top - Black Cherry, no mods, looks and sounds great, never gigged, custom order gold birds, gold hardware, PRS hardshell case with hangtags still on. $2700 shipped. 1998 Gibson Les Paul Custom – Alpine White, excellent condition, with standard brown/pink Gibson hardshell case. It has 3 small brown “stains” on it where it sat in an A-style stand that reacted with the finish (so at least you have confirmation it’s nitrocellulose), two on the bottom and one on the back. Excellent shape otherwise and plays great. $4300 shipped. 1983 Gibson Les Paul Custom – Black Beauty, 3-pickup, player grade gigging guitar, Fralin pickup in bridge position, Gibson 3-pickup wiring, standard Gibson brown/pink hardshell case. This one has the Gibson flip-out tuners that they tried on Customs and Artisan models for a year or two. Plays great. $4000 shipped. 1997 Gibson Les Paul Standard – cherry burst, no mods, standard Gibson brown/pink case – no shroud. Having second thoughts about this one. Keeping for now. 1979 Rickenbacker 4001 – JetGlo, Fralin pickup in bridge (original pickup included), Ric-o-sound jacks in working order, 9th fret inlay cracked but does not affect play, original case. $2800 shipped.

Yeah, she really got around. A hell of a lot of us had our turn with her. (the guitar - not your drummer's girlfriend)

Cheap Trick released something.

Listening to it for the second time right now. For me it's like everything they've done since the awesome 1997 Red Ant album: one or two great songs, a handful more good ones, and a bunch I never need to hear again. I'm glad they're still around and trying though. -
A local formerly independent radio station used to play his stuff. I always meant to check him out more because I liked everything I heard, but the only song I really "know" is this one (which is hilarious):

WTB - Hamer Standard Flametop

I definitely have two fine candidates including a very "Special One" (pun intended). I wasn't planning on selling either one just yet, but I could change my mind depending on what your friend's budget is. If you don't know what a "Zandard" is, search that term in the forums and familiarize yourself. As you can see, that one has seen action in a Cheap Trick tribute band before. Added bonus: I'm just down the road outside of Richmond so we wouldn't have to worry about shipping.- 32 replies

Anyone listening to Eddie Van Halen's kid?
tommy p replied to Saul Goodman's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
That's exactly what I said when the first album was released, and I really WANTED to like it...I just didn't. Same with the second unfortunately, and I WILL give this one a listen expecting more of the same while hoping to be pleasantly surprised. -
Dave Mustaine ruins "Ride the Lightning."

Same here. -
Shoot! I wish I had known that back then.

They do. I've seen them about 10 times and I know they've played at least twice, possibly 3 times that I've seen. It's always a treat to hear that one. What I've always wanted to hear (and never have) is several of their soundtrack songs like I Must Be Dreamin', Reach Out, Up the Creek, Spring Break, and Everything Works if You Let It. They play That 70's Song all the time, so why not these others? Oh, and If You Want My Love. There are songs from every album that I'd like to hear that as far as I know, they've never done. One cool thing: I went to a Kix show one time and the support band opened with Love Comes a Tumblin' Down. I was listening and loved it, but I guess I was so stunned I couldn't think of where I had heard it before until halfway through the song! For you folks who know Kix or are from the DMV area, the band was Vollmer.

Me hanging with the 2000's version of the Yardbirds after a show, Chris third from the front and drummer Jim McCarty next to me. I actually met Chris and a couple of the others in front of the venue before the show. Nice guy and very cool to talk to. They ripped it up.

I bought these two guitars on the same day probably 20 years ago when I decided I needed an acoustic. I went in for this used Martin which I had had my eye on for a while and walked out with both that and a new Guild 12-string. I've only pulled the Guild out to put humidifiers in the case, and change the strings about once a year. I would play 12-string songs for an hour and then back in the case it went. It still has the film on the pickguard. It's going to be in my next wave of "For Sale" posts.

Good! Maybe if Geddy doesn't have to play keys all the time, he can get better on bass. 🤣😂😉

Can I show this post to my wife to prove that someone once agreed with me on something?

Another long interview be Beato: John Fogerty.
tommy p replied to Saul Goodman's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Agree. Every band has a certain chemistry and even if you replace members with superior musicians (not that this happened with CCR), sometimes the vibe of the band is lost. -
I'll be the only one who picks something from the Gillan lineup: Zero the Hero.

Same here. Ours were $60 and I was second row center.

The critics' reviews have not been good. I was wondering if people who played would like it more than the average schmo, and I'm glad that's the case. I won't see it in the theater but I will definitely jump on it as soon as it hits streaming.

I like those animation cels, especially the one from Bully for Bugs (what a nin-cow-poop!). My sister started collecting them years ago when you could get them for nothing. She must have at least 50, all from Looney Tunes or Disney, except for one from the Grinch. I have one seri-cel of the Beatles from Yellow Submarine.

Thanks! I had found it while I was at the show but today when I looked I gave up after trying four or five links, lazy bastard that I am.

I saw this in Hopewell VA Tuesday night, second row center. I'd rate it a good 9 out of 10. I had seen lots of videos of opener Jared James Nichols online over the years and I couldn't have despised him more. I liked his playing but his ridiculous guitar faces absolutely ruined it for me. Live it was an entirely different story. He is nowhere near so over-the-top with the faces as he is online and his songs are decent hard rock stompers for the most part. He tries a little too hard to show his control of dynamics, taking his volume down to damn near inaudible on several songs throughout the night. Once or twice would have been plenty. His drummer and bass player were both solid players and backed him up well. The bass player was the spitting image of Brian Robertson of Thin Lizzy. Someone else mentioned they closed with a cover of War Pigs which they did at the show I saw too, and Jared pretty much let the audience sing it. He was grinning and having a great time and I like him a lot more now after seeing him live. I've never been the biggest UFO fan and actually prefer his MSG stuff and Chapman-era UFO to Schenker-era UFO, but I had seen him for the first time at Schenkerfest a few years ago and I swore then if he came back around I would go. THAT was incredible and all 4 of the singers were excellent. He had the same second guitarist/keyboard player (Steve Mann) and drummer (Bodo Schopf) from Schenkerfest with different bass player (Barend Courboois) and singer (definitely NOT Erik Gronwall, but I didn't catch his name). Steve Mann is a great guitarist in his own right and actually took the first solo of the night along with several others later. I looked up Courbois and he has played with a hundred different bands. He was great and had kind of a tough guy stage presence. The singer reminded me of Klaus crossed with Dio. It might have been just because he was short and had curly hair like those guys (although more of it 🤣). Even though I am not deep on older UFO, I recognized almost every song and I must say I liked the songs a lot more at this show than I ever have on record. One thing I think is cool about Schenker is that he doesn't tap or sweep. He just plays with killer tone and feel. I loved it when he took extended solos. Really inspiring player. He also looked like he was having a great time and stepped up to the mic several times during the night to say thanks. If you ever liked Schenker or UFO I would highly recommend seeing this show. (No pics because I don't take pics at shows. There are always plenty of other people doing it.)

I love the AC/DC one and would take a whole album of that! I hate the Iron Maiden one. I've heard WAY too many of these that claim to be a certain song done in a radically different style than the original and it turns out it's nothing like the original song at all; the chord changes and melody are nothing like the original song and isn't that what a song is? The Maiden song is just their lyrics set to completely different music. Barf.
