  1. I don’t understand how Perry, Beck, and Whitford use(d) them so successfully with Marshall amps. As a clean boost they are fine but nothing special. I have had two Klones over the years and the only guitar I could use the gain knob cranked with was a Strat into a Vox or a BF Fender. Other than that, it was clean boost only and other things do that as well. Now I do like them as a tone shaper before or after fuzz. But an eq pedal does that too. Yet Perry has gone on record that the Centaur is essential to “his sound”. Through Marshall amps. Maybe Finnegan tweaked them for Marshalls for his higher-profile customers?
  2. Congrats! I put filters in mine and it worked great in all contexts, including worship music.
  3. Does anyone here know if the new ones are of the same quality? Color me intrigued for a custom Ranger…
  4. Hey! The Robin website is apparently up and running? Are they making guitars again? Did I miss something?
  5. That is a super cool body shape…and I dig the bevels…and a Vega-Trem! I am loving this one…..
  6. I would rock TF outta that!
  7. Thanks for verifying @LucSulla!
  8. I have found what works for me..,.Badcat Unleash v2 and an Ironman Mini. I also use a Weber MASS Lite on one amp because it sound great on that particular amp. I need to try a PS2. I also have a Phaez Brink which works well with my Valvetech in shaving off a few dbs. @Hbom is right, tho. There is no substitute for a raging, breathing tube amp moving air. It is a matter of physics. Everything is a bit of a trade off. Some more than others.
  9. Agreed. Smacks of AI. Sorry.
  10. Iron Man….just for its impact on me as a young 70s guitar player. So heavy, so rocking. I have made it a fave of my young grandkids. It is everything rock.
  11. Define cheap. I have a Lovepedal Believe….
  12. That JHS pedal would be very cool….
  13. I do love the sense of humor here. You guys are great!
  14. Huh? He only goes on about AI for 1:30 and I don’t blame him. Who would want AI changing content without the creator’s involvement? Good on him for wanting his channel AI free.
  15. You have to decide what Plexi means and what P,exi tone you are looking for. A JTM-JMP-1974-2061 are all actual Plexis. When most people,e talk about the Plexi sound, they mean the JMP 1959 100 watter or the 1987 50 watter. But it can mean the JTM or the Bluesbreaker (JTM combo). And the 70s JMPs got hotter and brighter as the decade went on concluding with the JCM. The 1968 JMP circuit is considered by many t9 e the best, but horses for courses. My Valvetech 25 will do t(e tweed 5f6axJTM and JMP tones. My TopHatMini Junior HG has the 1968 preamp and will do 5f6a-JTM-JMP-JCM I like the versatility and those circuits varied based upon component values. Decide what Plexi tone/circuit you want and grab one that is built to those specs and match speakers accordingly. The 50 watt JMP circuit with a 20 watt 6v6 power section does it for me at sane volumes and sounds like, well, a Plexi. Plenty great Marshall builders out there.
  16. That was cool! Thanks for posting!
  17. Beato has been knockin’ it outta the park lately with his interviews… Joe/Brad, Pat Travers, and now DG.
  18. If this is AI, I hate it with a passion because it isn’t real. Fake computer BS. If this is a real band, kudos for a good idea which reminds me of Otis Redding covering Satisfaction. But it sounds like AI. The guitar solo should have been a sax. But that’s an easy fix with AI. It has all the classic soul cliches …in spades. Have I said how much this boomer hates AI fake music?
  19. I would rather say “I wish he played the 5 neck “ than “He couldn’t lift the 5 neck.” Shit, last time I saw Aerosmith they didn’t play Train Kept a Rollin”…that was a bigger disappointment for me than RN not playing any one particular guitar.
  20. This! Right up my alley too.
  21. I think the ribs I’ll smoke tomorrow will match my AK avatar quite well. We’ll see in about 26 hours from now.
  22. Good to hear him unprocessed in a bar environment. I’d like to imagine he loved it and was reminded of why he stated playing blues-rock in the first place.
