  1. Yowza!
  2. You are in the right place. Beautiful Studio. GLWTS
  3. X3… I have been using Weller 40 watters on my amps and guitars for years. Iron, holder, and a sponge. It just works well.
  4. It is at least time for him to no longer attempt to play the 5 neck. That made me embarrassed for him. He is a rocker who loves to rock. Time to stick to single necks. Ugh. That hurt me to watch him struggle like that.
  5. CT was my first proper concert and I have seen them more than any other. I still miss Bun E. He was a major part of their intelligent quirkiness that I love. Expect a stream of great and fun guitars. Tom’s 8 and 12 string basses sound great too. Humor, intelligence, and great fun songs. Last two time I saw them I got there in time for soundcheck (outdoors) and they played Beatles tunes like Dr. Robert and She Said, She Said. Enjoy!
  6. I was 14 years behind you in the USAF, Willie G. Did 20 years. Remember finding vintage gear in the rec center at Keesler AFB in tech school and playing gigs at Osan AB, ROK. Once my band was in the middle of a drunken late night rehearsal, playing “Going to a Go-Go” when Chaka Khan walked in with her entourage and started dancing. No one else in the room. Kinda surreal. She was there for a gig either earlier that night or the next day. Good memories
  7. I dig it. Classic CT power pop! Love all the guitar textures and the Leslie solo. Very dense mix, though. But it works. I am curious as to what inspired the lyrical content. “Twelve gates” has a biblical connotation but I have no idea what they are intending. That was always a favorite trait of CT that I have loved…their lyrics are not always simple or what they seem. Often humorous and intelligent without getting too cerebral. Thanks for sharing, @Disturber.
  8. I had one of those Schallers on a Ric 650. It was a great bridge.
  9. Per the initial run (with a couple exceptions) our Ultimates shipped with a set of Gravelin Shlabotnik Sisters pickups. Both A2 mags. Grace in the neck and Enola in the bridge. Enola is ever so slightly hotter than a “normal “ PAF. Mine are the best humbuckers I have ever played. No mud. Clear and articulate, like a Tele on steroids, but capable of balls out RNR.
  10. I LOVE ribbons on guitar cabs! GLWTS
  11. Yes indeed. And no auto tune or iPads. They all sang and played. Chi-Lite’s Oh,Girl was a soul masterpiece. The songs on that list had feel and vibe.
  12. Yeah, I bought Lucsulla’s and wish I had kept it myself. I should find another. The Vox tone is to die for….chimey as all get out. And the Marshall channel brings the rock. I upgraded with vintage preamp tubes and made an awesome amp even better. I +think+ @gtrdaddy (Jamie) bought it from me. Why Mesa didn’t take over the world with these, I am not sure. In retrospect,it was the perfect amp at 15 gigging watts.
  13. YouTube is easy. Use CDBaby to get on all the major streaming platforms or you can load direct to Bandcamp for free and they have a great audience and anyone can use it.
  14. I used both an SBUS and an SBUK for the church gig. Per typical, the US didn’t work for me unless I was on the tweed setting. The UK was magic. If I was still playing on a church praise team, I’d buy on in an instant. My musical collaborator and Rumpel Pickup owner AC uses the US as his main jazz amp. He p,ay is some SERIOUS jazz projects and he makes the US sound amazing.
  15. The Donahue pickup is a flat-out rocker.
  16. I regret moving my Special Korina Junior, my 1980 Special, and my Newport. Dumbass. i regret not buying a nice Diablo that was offered to me for yea, $350. Dumbass x2.
  17. Damn…my 1980 Cboard Special was so, so resonant….but it had the thin neck…Ishould have kept it…this one tho, with the bigger neck…
  18. Wow…that Tally looks amazing.
  19. Someone buy this! Mine is my forever guitar. Aptly named.
  20. Trusted seller here… just fyi for the newbies. Buy with confidence.
  21. Too close knob placement was the ONLY thing that kept my Korina Special Junior from being perfect. But it wasn’t a dealbreaker for me, just annoying because it was unnecessary.
  22. The knob aesthetic bothers me too much. Way too far apart. Dealbreaker. I would hate looking at the guitar each time I reached for the volume or tone knob. Headstock doesn’t bother me and I dig Korina. The bridge doesn’t bother me either. But I don’t get the supposed Hamer Tribute thing. Something just seems off.
  23. Looks like a versatile bass. Rock it in good health!
  24. Always good to see HFC’ers playing out!
