  1. This is a long shot and a huge ask, but is anyone (really) near Aberdeen, NC? I've found what I consider a deal on an amp and matching cabinet, but the seller won't ship it. It's a head and a cabinet, so it wouldn't be a single 65 lbs. package, but the assist would include boxing / shipping two good-sized boxes. I would reimburse, of course, and I'm glad to pay additional for the help. Thanks, Jeff
  2. Zactly how much would one of those epoxy or resin guitars weigh? Maybe I'm missing the point (they do look cool), but I remember picking up one of those Dan Armstrong guitars back in the 80's. And I thought a Norlin Les Paul was heavy!
  3. I'd love a Kemper, etc., but back in the 90's a friend & store owner loaned me one of those rackmount Art preamps that did everything in the world. It was on all weekend and played absolutely no guitar save a chord or lead run to hear what the next option sounded like. Even now I have a Positive Grid Spark. It sounds fine as far as I can tell (after using it a total of maybe five hours). I cannot abide interfacing with it via my iPhone and there are entirely too many choices when I do. I've been tempted by the Kemper, Helix, etc., too many times, but I know it would be just like the Art preamp experience thirty years ago...
  4. Reasonable AI interpretation, but the backup voices ruined it for me - definitely not soul harmonies. They also missed an incredible opportunity at the tempo shift (~3:00) by not going into a shout break. Too obvious? πŸ˜‚
  5. I really clicked on this expecting diamond plate... πŸ˜†
  6. TC Electronic has this: Be a simple step for Boss to do likewise now.
  7. Good grief! I started scrolling through the brochure and thought it would never end. This thing is amazing.
  8. Sounds (oddly, surprisingly) like Billy Gibbons.
  9. Brilliant! Like Lerxst's Omega Stand for acoustics.
  10. From my vendor of choice for tea (O-Cha.com) who does an incredible job of keeping their website up to date: I think I've got about 300g left in my stash, so hopefully this can get worked out in the next couple of months. But that's tea. Adding 15% to say, a guitar or even a pedal would likely make import infeasible.
  11. What a great set list!
  12. "*WHILE SUPPLY LASTS *ONLY THREE AVAILABLE AT THIS PRICE *ONE CASE PER CUSTOMER" πŸ˜†
  13. Had a fraternity brother fired from WalMart for putting a Richard Pryor cassette in ole Teddy. 🀣
  14. Just popped up on my Spotify Music Radar - will Zander age already? He sounds better than ever. Loved the tune.
  15. The great irony is "everyone" hated it, but the only Boss pedal that shipped more units was the DS-1. πŸ˜†
  16. I assume it was a (yet another) dig at this one: Am I wrong?
  17. The original was another of the hundreds of examples of the world getting much larger when I went to college. This was a regular in the fraternity house VCR. Saw them live at the Starwood in Nashville on the Break Like the Wind tour in 1992 - Bela Flek jammed with them on "Break Like the Wind." Surreal. The best part was after it was over Derek Smalls reaches into his spandex and pulls out the cucumber, unwraps it and motions to the crowd. Seeing what was about to happen, the crowd parted like the Red Sea as he tossed it into the seats. 🀣
  18. What a cool collection of gear! And what a spacious stage!
  19. Wow! Being quite ig-nert, I learn something every day! 424 GAIN STAGE – JHS Pedals I didn't even know the "424 Sound" was a thing (I just knew my broke-college self couldn't afford one BITD).
  20. Thanks for the heads-up. It was in my My List on Amazon forever, but by the time I got around to it they had taken it off Free With Prime and it was a rental. I have to save these (music documentaries) for the odd occasion I'm home alone. NOBODY will suffer through them with me. πŸ˜‘
  21. Looks like it's just the 1960 Inspired By, so first fret measurement of 0.80" - pity that. Wildwood has one for $1,100. Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Custom Shop 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut | Reverb
  22. I used to run spot / setup for acts when I was in college. We were on CT's regular touring circuit along with Molly Hatchet, .38 Special, etc. The stage was always in the "old" fieldhouse against this wall: I would be stationed with a Strong Supertrooper on a riser upstairs opposite the stage (up the bleacher stairs to the right of this photo). They always put on a great show, but the guitar show backstage was always my favorite part. Outside of a (large) music store, I'd never seen so many guitars at one time. He had this new brand I'd only ever seen in magazines. Hammer? Hamer? πŸ˜‰
  23. Wow! Serious AM radio flashback!
  24. Cool short from that interview popped up in my feed:
