stedge Posted January 6 Posted January 6 There is an miii expensive on reverb for a while, been watching it And some newports no affiliation etc just passing along id love an miii but tbh i want a stoptail and no bigsby, fwiw Rare as hen’s teeth 2 Quote
Jakeboy Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 I saw the MIII on Reverb…and the Newports…but I’d much rather buy here if possible. Being blown away by the Tally I bought and seeing @Camstone’s Monaco Monaco (M2?) instigated this reach out. 1 Quote
kizanski Posted January 6 Posted January 6 If I were in the market for an M3, I'd probably go for this one. Not cheap, but also not your garden variety M3. 9 1 Quote
stedge Posted January 6 Posted January 6 (edited) It would already be mine if it didnt have a bigsby. that said a sweet es347 would do quite nicely. Late 80s/early 90s. back to your original thread - Edited January 6 by stedge Added info 2 Quote
django49 Posted January 6 Posted January 6 (edited) An ES347 is a good quest. A certain black and gold one was my numero uno for quite a while. Of course you could pick one up for around $400 back then......😉 ETA.....I forget who, but I did trade it to someone here sometime ago. Edited January 6 by django49 4 Quote
currypowder Posted January 7 Posted January 7 There’s a Newport Pro on Facebook, no affiliation. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1H3NzsCAch/?mibextid=wwXIfr 2 1 Quote
Jakeboy Posted January 7 Author Posted January 7 I love the top and the ebony on that M3….what I don’t like are the pickguard holes someone drilled in and the fact that I’d have to install 3 OEM Duncan 90s in order to get the highly touted in-between sounds. But it is in the running…. 2 Quote
currypowder Posted January 7 Posted January 7 I think you need a nice traditional Tokai 335. 😃 1 1 Quote

I got close on one of the new Gibson plant guitars but the neck measurements seem to be all over the place and rarely are the actual measurements disclosed ("rounded C," gee, thanks...). One of the reasons I follow @currypowder on Reverb is he (you) are always great to disclose the weight and neck measurement. I agree that M3 is fantastic, but like @Jakeboy, the screw holes and humbuckers kill it for me. 2 Quote

I try, but sometimes I forget, or list measurements in a way that someone doesn't appreciate. In fact, one time I listed some neck dimensions in a way that a looker didn't like. You would have thought that I came to his house, busted his door, screwed his wife and pissed on his dog. Just an absolute tool of a pompous know it all. No need to get into details, just quite a bit over the top reaction for a minor discrepancy. 2 4 Quote

L2A3 Posted January 9 Posted January 9 I was always looking for a Monaco III but once I saw that amazing green one (that I believe CM owns) I knew I would never be happy with regular ol' one. I ended up going with a Kauer Super Chief with all the switching options and it is a great guitar with many tones. 1 1 Quote

Jakeboy Posted February 14 Author Posted February 14 (edited) Ok…a couple nice Newports offered here, but I changed my mind for now on that model. I really want a M3 or a Monaco Monaco. Tally Pro and Monaco Superpro are still in the mix too. So still searching. Edited February 14 by Jakeboy 3 Quote
