I think the other messageboard has the infamous Spidey/Tonejunkee duel in its entirety.

Here ya go: Sharkfin soup!

My Pop-Tarts line was mainly in reference to BCRGreg telling us he was having some kind of Pop-Tart for breakfast each morning. The Bomb-Pop part was just a reference to others metioning them on the old boards.

Now let's start some real fireworks.

Ahem....

"I'm gigging a P-90 Duotone without a backup."

Let's see what happens with this one. LOL

The best stuff on here always appeared in the middle of some laborious thread, like a building crescendo.

This is such a great place to "riff"....

For those who have the stomach for it, absolutely.

Since boyhood I've palled around with relentless ballbusters. Precisely why I've always felt right at home here.

Actually, the Bomb Pop thing was a reference to "FP Pink", which is derived from the former banned member and an inappropriate term he used to describe an 80s Hamer color.

It was also my first Photoshop....ever.

Wish i still had it.

The Rechts v. AnDy threads were often comic masterpieces.

Largely one-sided trouncings, with the ALF/AnDy pic being the final sledgehammer shot to the jaw.

YEAH! Classic!! Tonejunkee still around? Hey Junkee!

The Rechts v. AnDy threads were often comic masterpieces.

+ a thousand insults! Ed vs. pAnZy was yet another classic..and yes, one-sided.

There are some battles on this board that you can read: Hellrider and such nonsense. Good for a laugh. Click the topics drop down in the lower right and select 'locked'. Good readin'.

Pancake Bunny used to be the unofficial mascot of the HFC....has it been 10 years?

HFC_politicalAnimation2.gif

Man how things have changed... I remember bringing in the pancake bunny when a couple goofs were arguing over something... Don't think it's quite been 10 years.. but it has been a few.

And I gotta say that I fergot about yer using my face on this one, lol.

The format of the first board was pretty entertaining, there being no limits on the number of characters you could put in your title line; AnDy and Scarab Arab (IIRC) got into it, and they were fighting their entire fight in the title lines (instead of actually having to open the post to see the it), taking up entire pages. Hilarious.

Then there was the fight about Columbus that got so big it crashed the board - LOL.

Hard to believe I've been here ten years.

1997 predated most of the people on this board. I remember the three day lag between posts on threads between Peter, Ted, Doc Large, Cary, Cmatthes and myself (and a very few others that are still here). Hell, even Platzer didn't show up until almost 98 when he finally got that internet thing that Al Gore invented. I had to post replies for him for a long time!

LOL, and the fledgling "eBay" had like, 5 Hamers total every week, and it'd all be guys from this MB chasing them.

82 Specials going for $260....are you shitting me? And that was competitive!

I remember going after my first '59 Flamey Standard on eBay in spring of 99, and I lost it during last second bidding to some dooosh, who turned out to be Turdus. Who happened to not only live locally, but played in a band with my former highschool buddies.

So, anyways, same seller has an FBIV ending a few minutes later, and I get into a last minute bidding war with some other dork, in Ohio, who threatens to kick my ass (in an email) after I win.

It was Cary.

Don't get me started about a Red FBIII and how I met cmatthes....

HEHEHEHE.. thanks guys. this thread has been (so far) a real cure for a slow day at the pill factory. <whew>. To think of all the things we've all been through together. I still have a ton of emails from the past too. viva laHFC.

Ahhh, the good ole' days with Turdus settin' the board on fire.....Scarab Arab was hysterical.......Rechts vs AnDy ruled.........

I remember my first post regarding a TLE I was selling on Ebay, man I got killed because it was routed, not that I was trying to hide it...good thing I had a thick skin.

LMAO - that story gets farther from the truth every time you retell it.

I remember telling Serial in an email about a Standard I saw in a clasifed up in PA, and giving him the info because I was nervous about buying long distance from a classified.

WTF did I know years ago? Turned out to be that Blueburst 0096. Someone shoot me.

Anybody got any pics of the chrome plated import with nekked girls engraved? That got a lot of mileage.

Wow! Step away from the PC for a couple of hours...

Glad I asked....I think I'm going to like it here. I tend to be a smartass in my classical guitar forums, but many people just don't comprehend written sarcasm or are rather too proper to play along.

I have NEVER seen profanity in my CG forums (years, I'm talking), much less a thread dedicated to boobs, etc.....thanks for sharing. I have witnessed some great fights, and I think every forum has their share of a-holes and people who don't know enough to know that they don't know what they're talking about.

My first week on here I read with great interest young Bruce's post asking for confirmation of the (predetermined) rarity and value of his Korean import. Watching that thread spin into a defensive, accusatory, flat out lying insecurity-based attack on a forum of experts that were total strangers to him amused me (sorry for the run-on). I've seen a lot of that in my other forums. In a group filled by Harvard musicologists, world-class luthiers and historians, inevitably someone new would hop in offer to 'help everyone out' with his expertise. It's really funny to watch someone reeling when the truth hits, especially if they are easily angered.

Sounds like you have quite a history here. Again, I'm glad I asked.

P.S. That chrome reflection, even to someone with absolutely no context of how it came about, is hilarious.

Tonedaddy (the Original) used to call me up on a regular basis laughing his ass off, telling me to go on the board and look at something else he had posted that was getting everyone all riled up.

I vaguely remember that - that's not the one that got him banned the first time though, IIRC.
