Devnor Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 If you're looking at this, take heed:http://cgi.ebay.com/REAL-USA-HAMER-CALIFOR...1QQcmdZViewItemI bought this guitar a few months ago for a refin project. Last I checked, it's not for sale. This seller is using the same pics, same serial number.
ZR Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Please alert Ebay (if you haven't already) to this *&ckwad! Thanks for the heads-up. How's your guitar doing?I'm going to start sending a bunch of questions ..others may want to do the same. Kinda yank his chain a little!
marcnorth Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Someone has put a bid on it. But not for that much.So are you saying you own this guitar right now?If so you should contact ebay and get them to shut down the auction before someone loses their money. It amazes me the stuff people try to pull on ebay. No wonder people shy away from it.edit to add:Damn, the price was only $530 last time I looked, now it's $99,100
sw686blue Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Come on, someone put in a bid for $750,000! This should be fun. The seller is probably either creaming his panties or pissed as hell!

Lockbody Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 That's my $99,000 bid. And I thought I had it won,
cmatthes Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Interesting...the "seller" is listed as living about 5 miles from me. Maybe I could check it out for ya!
peedenmark7 Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 I better start rounding hamers up to list....news of the buyout is spreading fast LOLplace your bids !!http://cgi.ebay.com/REAL-USA-HAMER-CALIFOR...1QQcmdZViewItem
Matt Mattson Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 I'm confused. It's a "smoking guitar." Must be an exclusive model and worth the 99,000+ price . . .
jerseydrew Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Interesting...the "seller" is listed as living about 5 miles from me. Maybe I could check it out for ya! You should put a winning bid in of 2,000,000. and tell him you want to come over and pay cash!
kizanski Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 As a self-proclaimed expert chain-yanker, I would recommend at this point that one of the current bidders start emailing the "seller" and ask for a "Buy It Now" price, while another bidder email and wax on endlessly about how happy he/she is to finally find such a rare example of this instrument at a price that is still within reach. The scammers almost never know what they're "selling" and will believe anything that you tell them, particularly if they think you are getting closer to forking over your cash.Recently I strung one of these assholes along for three days and at least a dozen emails, playing dumb (no...really), asking questions about payment possibilities, and feigning a level of interest that only a scammer could believe. When I had finally lost interest (and hopefully kept him "in the game" long enough that he may have gotten pinched), I sent him this reply:"Ok. I’m bored with stringing you along.I knew the second I saw your auction that it was fake, and I just wanted to waste your time.Good luck with your scams, dipshit."It's the damnedest thing....I never heard back from him.
peedenmark7 Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 I asked him if he would take a '70 hemi cuda in trade for this guitar, and hoped he's post it in the auction...but ...you would think someone would not be so stupid...you have to have a credit card on file to sell, and well... the final value fees are gonna charged to you unless you file non payer or something along those lines...before you get it back correct ?along the same lines........... I have been looking for another marshall jubilee... and getting a little desperate..I see theres a 2555 head up right now... but the wording , serial and pics are copped from an auction that ended 3 weeks ago...I contacted the original seller to see if the guy that has it up currently is the party that bought it..... no response yet... there was alot made of this auction on the gear page... I'm sure it will come up again.
kizanski Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Ok, who's gonna outbid me?LOL! You're on the hook, Cannuck!
morningstar Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 I posted this question to seller. Doubt I will get a response..."Golly this must be pretty rare to be drawing such high bids! Please post some more pictures, especially some with the serial number showing. kthx hamernut"Duhmorningstar
killerteddybear Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Kiz, it's spelled "Canuck", even in Quebec.
