BubbaVO Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Nothing recent has really grabbed me. I'm hoping you guys can supply some inspiration.
Imiss85 Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Not really new but I found the Dana Fuchs band recently. Check out her website. If you've ever seen Across the Universe she was Sexy Sade. Real good voice in the realm of Joplin, some tasty guitar playing going on as well. I'm not sure who the guitarists are on the record, but they have some great tone and some nice chops.
lesterpaul Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 gotta say I am diggin' the Crowes new one...as well as Gov"t Mule's new one
lord nelson Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 The blackening is definately a great metal album. My candidate for album of the year i Baroness - Blue record

Disturber Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 Levon Helm doesn't needs The Band to make a great record : Plus one on Levon Helm, great record. If you like that do check out this compilation of Louie and the Lovers release by German label Bear Family (they release such excellent stuff all the time...!) Amazon link Right now in the CD player, an album by RJD2, The Horror . if you like DJ Shadow you'll like this The new Gov't Mule album. A lost record by the genious Betty Davis, (Miles Davis ex. wife). Larry Grahams band plays on this album. And still digging the new Black Crowes album on vinyl. I also bought the soundgrack to the TV series "Heroes" as it includes a new song by The Jesus & Mary Chain. I am spending my hope for a new J&MC album in 2010. I also found a download of that non released album by Danger Mouse, Sparklehorse and David Lynch that is quite cool actually. In the car yesterday I played Chinse Democrasy by GnR. This album has grown, I like it, except for to many meedly mee solos.
gorch Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 I only listen to these occasionally,B-side from Queen IIDeep Purple - Concerto for Group and Orchestra, both versions - Live in JapanElectric Light Orchestra - EldoradoIan Gillan Band (Deep Purple singer 70th solo stuff)Gillan - Mr. Universe (Japanese album) 2nd gen. solo stuff
Willie G. Moseley Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 As noted elsewhere, the Steve Morse Band's OUT STANDING IN THEIR FIELD and Kansas' THERE'S KNOW PLACE LIKE HOME. And the latter caused me to pull out Styx's ONE WITH EVERYTHING (live w/ the Contemporary Youth Orchestra of Cleveland) again.
jettster Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 Nice catchy tunes, good vocals and ripping guitar.
princeofdarkness56 Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 Never cared too much for Elvis Costello, but his new one is impressive.
