pacealot Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 I just wanted to put the word out that my custom white Hamer B12S Pete Comita-type knockoff bass was stolen this Thursday night out of my car in the Irvington district in Portland, OR. I ordered it from BCR in 2005, and Greg put pics up of it here at the time. I don't have a record of the serial number currently, but Greg's getting that for me, and I'll add it here when he does. It has the adjacent pickup placement like the original Comita bass did, with X2Ns and custom wiring, as well as replacement knobs and TRC. It has my name on the headstock too, so good luck to the guy trying to fence it!If anyone hears or sees anything, please let me know at pacealot at gmail. Thanks everybody.-Paul Hoaglin

If I lived nearby I'd volunteer for your posse if/when you find your bass.Check out the local pawn shops. Don't expect the police to do any kind of checking for you, even though the shops are probably required to send in lists of what they buy and who the seller was.Also prowl Craigslist and ebay, and whatever local for-sale websites you may have.

Just in case anyone else is willing to help this guy out, here is the tool that I use to scour CL postings across the continent (and around the globe if you want)http://crazedlist.org/It's super easy to use, but do not skip the step where it asks you to change the send:refer value of your browser or else it won't work. I find this tool works best with Firefox.

I will also put up a poster with the fullk and head shots in the lobby and email the poster to our buddies at Evolution Studios, Spotlight Studios, Roys Place Studios, Seattle Rehearsal Studios, Tullys, the Vortex, Gary Press, MaxiSpace, and all our buds at local guitar centers.Whoever has it will have to crawl under their bed with it and hide to escape.

pacealot Posted August 29, 2010 Author Posted August 29, 2010 Happy ending: I'm elated to say that, after spending this summer underground, my B12S turned up on Portland's Craigslist tonight, and thanks to some eagle-eyed friends in the Northwest who spotted it for me, Portland PD literally just retrieved it for me, and I'll be picking it up when I visit Puddletown in a couple of weeks. Thanks to everyone for their well-wishes. Sometimes good things really DO happen! I can't wait to be reunited with my Comita/Brant/Nielsen beast again!! Once again, you rule, Greg.
