HAMERMAN 752
RoyB and Stike both refinish guitars. I wouldn't be surprised if some others do too. Be sure to post before and after pics when you get it done.
Brentrocks 803
I have a guy here in kalamzoo, MI...Pete Moreno. He worked for Gibson in the 60s & 70s...he also worked for Heritage. He has refined a couple H 150s for me in Silverburst...he does all finishes and his work is GRADE A!!!i could get an estimate for you if you were to send me some hi res picslet me know and i could handle the transprotation of your guitar as well...you could ship it to me, i would take it to pete and ship it back to you when its donejust throwing that out there if you like....i have helped a lot of guys on the Heritage Owners Club, taking stuff to Pete and everybody is very pleased with his work.brent269-207-7328

kurtsstuff 275
Well...got the guitar and....umm....it's worse off than I'd hoped The maple cap is actually separated/lifting in a couple of spots and a couple spots have what would best be described as "waves" ...what the hell did this guy do?? But...it does sound good and plays great so....probably just gonna play it until it completely falls apart....retopping this thing was not in the budget..

kurtsstuff 275
Just curious if anybody knows?? Looks to me like the two piecemaple top has shrunk pulling away from the edges and seperating the seam in the middle...is this possible andwould a stripping agent cause it?? Thats my best guess anyways??
formula73 61
I'm not knocking the LPC, but from that angle, the carve looks more PRS-ish than Gibson-ish, especially on the cutaway. That said, the top is INCREDIBLE.

Looks to me like the two piecemaple top has shrunk pulling away from the edges and seperating the seam in the middle...is this possible andwould a stripping agent cause it?? Thats my best guess anyways??That glue joint sure is off center. There's no telling what happened but it's fucked up-heat? Wet?The votes of confidence are nice but that might be beyond my comfort zone, I'm pretty much just a paint guy. Are you near Portland? Saul Koll I'm sure could give you an accurate diagnosis of what happened and what would be invloved to get it right. Just guessing from the pics but it could be the maple wasn't jointed right and was forced closed with the clamps only to open up later. Maybe the wood wasn't dried enough before glueing? What kind of shape is the binding in? Post some more pics if you can.
RoyB 34
Do you know any details about what year the guitar is? from the separation in the top and waves it almost looks like someone veneered the top (poorly). Is your idea to do back to a burst or Goldtop?
