RoyB Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Some time ago I posted a couple of korina standard/Explorer style guitars we were building, so today they got wrapped up and came out great. They are both built using specs off one of my four digit Standards.
RoyB Posted July 26, 2011 Author Posted July 26, 2011 1st to say,Very Nice Roy.Thanks I appreciate it.
RoyB Posted July 26, 2011 Author Posted July 26, 2011 Still remember the topic where I was talking about building this and you posted that photo. Too funny.
BCR Greg Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Still remember the topic where I was talking about building this and you posted that photo. Too funny. The photo is years older than that conversation. I did this for a proposed limited run of Hamers, but decided that the $6k/guitar that they told me they would price it at was a bit much.

Still made a cool guitar, but it's not a $6000 guitar. Half that max.
BCR Greg Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 I'd buy one for $3k....if I didn't have to replace my well. Shit.
dgstandard Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 They look amazing! What pickups & RS kit do they have?

What pickups & RS kit do they have? The Sr. have a Modern kit and True 60 pickups. The Jr. has a vintage jr kit with a luxe cap and a fralin special wind with alnico II magnets.

crunchee Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Very very nice! Do both of 'em have flamed Korina necks, or is that just a reflection of some type?
Rodan Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Love these! The Jr. is an especially clever design. I may not get out much, but I've never seen that hybrid before...
santellavision Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Man, those are awesome axes!!!The Fralin/RS Tru 60's pickups are THE best I have had in any guitar. I now have two sets and they are just amazing!
BCR Greg Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 I'd buy one for $3k....if I didn't have to replace my well. Shit.?? Our well pump needs to not be in our well and another well pump needs to be there.

But, at least your well is still good. I have some friends up in NY state where they are frac'ing natural gas out of the ground, and one of their neighbors screwed up and now no one can use their wells anymore due to contamination. They have a lawsuit going on but that'll take a while before it gets done.
RoyB Posted July 28, 2011 Author Posted July 28, 2011 Roy, those are awesome! Are they sold? Those two are staying put, but we would build others.
