murkat Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 A very special, dear to heart among some here. Client wants an overhaul, retop and then some. Thanks to Mike, I had a request for another Pete 5
murkat Posted March 21, 2012 Author Posted March 21, 2012 working on the Hamer tobycasters SLV gets a righty wiggle stick and nun more black suite. Blondie gets a facelift... wet sanded 1200, and shot again. Shawn's pimpin project. a proto conversion back to oldschool. I did not know they used poly... came off like fruit roll up with a heat gun. doweled and drilled for a sustain block
coolfeel Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Awesome, can't wait to see the finished products...That Townsend conversion is pure badass...
kizanski Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 A very special, dear to heart among some here.A very special Special indeed.wyldbil was royalty around here. Wish I could have hung with him (or at least met him). Thanks to Mike, I had a request for another Pete 5That guy called you! Great!
tobereeno Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 when that quilted TLE sat here and no one bought it...well, after I did get it, I realized that was one hell of a top under that old finish. It'd be a shame to not let it shine and pop like the quilted maple porn star that it is! It's easily as good as some of the better tops that Hamer has done in the past few years.no retop for the JLV. The guitar has a lot of mojo in the wood, and I don't want to divorce those two pieces of wood that have been working together since '87. Rout for right-handed trem, finish in opaque.
cmatthes Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 I've really got to get off my @$$ and get to the Post Office...
G Man Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 As always, love seeing your work Jay. Thanks for letting us in.

serial Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 I am (without the slightest ability to be patient) eagerly awaiting some Stike magic on this one:
murkat Posted March 21, 2012 Author Posted March 21, 2012 ^ been waiting on a update on that.... Just finished up on a rescue, mercy restoration. An old Charvel spegetti logo Predator. I found some time ago at sam ash, and I am a sucker for fixer uppers. It was hurtin bad. But, with time and patients, the ugly duckling bloomed into a force to be reconed with. Total playing monster. Big wide almost phat neck, huge frets. stock pups. I accidently wired them out of phase, omg, the best hands down OOP sound I have heard, very Micheal Schenker ish. So, here is some before, after pics.
gtone Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Always some cool stuff happenin' at NTL - great work as always Jay!
crunchee Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Always some cool stuff happenin' at NTL - great work as always Jay! +1! Cool how sometimes things work out, like that OOP wiring!
bubs_42 Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 I can't thank Jay and Stike both for the extra leg work that is going into my Phantom Project. Hum, that project needs a title of some sorts... (THINKING)
bubs_42 Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 The Phantom Loophole? For me leaving you an open shot to drive one home Feynman, that attempt was just sad.
Feynman Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Admittedly not among my better material, but it's hard to think clearly through my lingering anger at how you done me wrong.
murkat Posted March 23, 2012 Author Posted March 23, 2012 Mr. Powty face? Anyway, moving along..... Toby took home the finished Blondie (fret job, top coat, buff out). And JLV got plugged and wrapped.
sw686blue Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Holy shit! You have insane skills. Gibson really let you go?!?!?
