jujisque Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Can you guys give me a list of some of the most famous classic rockers who were endorsed by Hamer?

wgarces Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Steve Stevens, Lita Ford, Gary Moore, Martin Barre, Adrian Smith, Andy Summers, Doug Pinnick, Didn't KISS use Hamers Briefly?
Disturber Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Steve Stevens, Lita Ford, Gary Moore, Martin Barre, Adrian Smith, Andy Summers, Doug Pinnick, Didn't KISS use Hamers Briefly? The coolest Scarab ever and one Hamers from the 80's era. Pauls Stanleys mirrored Hamer: edit: Note the fact that it is not Floyd equipped. A rare bird indeed. Paul, and I think Ace, had a couple of really cool Hamers with very pointy headstocks. (pic 2). I have a bootleg concert where Ace is playing a very cool Standard with the same headstock shape. It must be a Hamer, but I have not been able to verify.
Guerrilla Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 endorsed by hamer? *scratches head* don't you mean players that endorsed hamer?
serial Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Ace's sunburst explorer isn't a Hamer. It is a downscaled body made by some luthier who's name escapes me. He did use it during the "Elder" tour and in videos when Paul was often seen playing one of his Hamer Vectors or modified Standards. Some Hamer endorsers/owners off the top of my head: Rick Nielsen, Tom Petersson, Robin Zander, Pete Comita, Dave Hlubek, James Honeyman-Scott, Pete Farndon, Elliot Easton, Martin Barre, Martin Turner, Lita Ford, Mick Ralphs, Bruce Springsteen, J. Geils Band, Andy Summers, Sting, Keith Richards, Ron Wood, Steve Clark, Pete Willis, Rick Savage, KK Downing, Glenn Tipton, Steve Stevens, Fernando Von Arb, Kip Winger, Vernon Reid, Elduave, Tom Dumont, Mick Mars, Robbin Crosby, Scotti Hill, Snake Sabo, Michael Fath, Neil Zaza, Tommy Williams, Jeff Watson, Brad Gillis, Jack Blades, David Eidelberg, Steve Brown, PJ Farley, Alex Parche, Brad Whitford, Joe Perry, John Entwistle, Pete Townshend, Tommy Shaw, Bruce Thomas, Dez Dickerson, Charlie Huhn, Jeff Murphy, Brinsley Schwarz, Michael Shenker, Ricky Medlocke, Wolf Hoffman, Alec Such, Johnny Colt, Mark Younger-Smith... I'm getting tired
Steve Haynie Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Pete Farndon and James Honeyman-Scott of the Pretenders were two of the earliest Hamer endorsers that I remember that have not been named yet. The Pretenders were substantial at the time. Sadly both of those guys were dead by the time the band was at its peak. When Molly Hatchet had platinum album sales they played Hamers. Wolf Hoffman of Accept was using Hamers and he was also pictured in Hamer catalogs/ads.
DavidE Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Where's Jennifer Love Hewitt on those lists guys???
HAMERMAN Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Where's Jennifer Love Hewitt on those lists guys??? And Shakira?
serial Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 "Where's Jennifer Love Hewitt on those lists guys???" -I had her typed in right after Jack Blades...
Steve Haynie Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Why did anyone in the marketing department at Kaman think that Jennifer Love Hewitt would make a good guitar endorser? No matter what guitar she holds, no one is going to be looking at the guitar.
Jack C Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 "Where's Jennifer Love Hewitt on those lists guys???" -I had her typed in right after Jack Blades... They had their own mini-list: Petite brunettes who dance around with Hamers but don't actually play.
Steve Haynie Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Here is a picture of Mick Mars with the Hamer JLH model guitar:
Disturber Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Some Hamer endorsers/owners off the top of my head: Rick Nielsen, Tom Petersson, Robin Zander, Pete Comita, Dave Hlubek, James Honeyman-Scott, Pete Farndon, Elliot Easton, Martin Barre, Martin Turner, Lita Ford, Mick Ralphs, Bruce Springsteen, J. Does anyone have a picture of either Keith Richard or Ron Wood playing a Hamer guitar please post it NOW!!! disturber
serial Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 I don't know of any pics of them playing them. John Belushi ordered Standards for Keith, Ron and Ron's son Jamie in '79. The guitars were delivered before the Stones played on SNL where JB was going to give them the guitars. JB then ordered new ones for at least Ron and Jamie and the originals later were recovered. Dave Rogers at Dave's in WI has the Keith Richards one (not sure if it is the original or if there was a 2d one made). Names inlaid into the fingerboards. Pretty cool.
mudshark Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Don't know that he's all that famous, but Lyle Workman has played Hamers for a long time.
David B Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Ace's sunburst explorer isn't a Hamer. It is a downscaled body made by some luthier who's name escapes me. He did use it during the "Elder" tour and in videos when Paul was often seen playing one of his Hamer Vectors or modified Standards. Paul Stanley had a lot of Hamers from '80 - '84. Ace had none that I know of. The Explorer he had was not a Hamer although it did favor the Standard.
belgian Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Not endorsed (yet) , but Guy Forsyth playing the Monaco III (mine)
hamertek98 Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Glen Campbell? I thought I've seen him with a Hamer 12 string of some sort.
belgian Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 What's an endorsment for Hamer? Do they actually build the guitars (custom) for free to get some exposure (like other company's do) - or do artists have to buy them?
