hectorp Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Note that the FB Page is still there....however FB messed around with the timeline feature so that it is obscured from your view unless you deliberately hunt for it in October...requiring additional clicks.
Hamer Dave Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 ? FB page? ? FB page? I hate that 'timeline'. I just don't get it!

diablo175 Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 HFC Brethren,It is with a modicum of sadness that I must retract my statement of intent to participate in/attend this years Chicago Gathering. A number of issues are coming into play but bottom line is: it's not looking good for the moment. That being said, I did volunteer to join in on a number of tunes that, in light of this announcement, I will not be able to help with anymore.Hope springs eternal that a last minute solution can be found, that would allow me to attend the Jam. I'll keep you posted.Diablo175

hectorp Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 All:Here's the Press Release that went to all the local weekly publications and blogs:FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASECONTACT:Cordelia Herman(312) 434-4676Cordelia.h.is@gmail.comSeptember 21, 2012Paul Hamer, Founder of Chicago’s Most Famous Guitar Manufacturer, Hamer Guitars, to Host 3rdAnnual Vintage Hamer Jam at Excalibur NightclubCHICAGO -- The Hamer Fan Club will be holding its 3rd annual Vintage Hamer Jam event this year at one of Chicago's hottest nightspots, the legendary Dome Room of the Excalibur Nightclub, from 6:00Pm to 10:00PM on Saturday, October 13, 2012 (the weekend after the Chicago Marathon)."Paul used to invite a few friends every year to dine at the Cliffdwellers Club to celebrate the founding of Hamer guitars. People like Cheap Trick's Rick Nielsen and Pezband's Mimi Betinis would get together to talk about the early years,” saidevent producer, Chris Herman, “ In 2010, we decided to expand the event, host a Jam at a cool local venue and invite a bigger audience. We've now had two events at the beautiful Dome Room and lots of great musical guests show up to perform. It's like those famous NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) after parties they used to have in the '80s…but a little friendlier. Since the interest in Hamer continues, we've made it an annual event." The doors open at 6PM and the music begins at 6:30PM. Tickets will be available at the door for $25. Musical guest, Off Broadway USA, one of the Midwest's most popular bands of the '70s and '80s, will be performing a special set at the event to honor friend and founder, Paul Hamer (renowned OBUSA guitarist, John Ivan was one of Hamer's first endorsees). In addition to OBUSA and other exciting indie acts sharing the stage (such as the Chicago chamber rock trio, the Hedgehog and the Fox, and DC's legendary "Mother May I"), Hamer guitar enthusiasts from all over the country (and from Europe) will be converging on the city to show their love for Paul, his amazing instruments and their lasting legacy as they get up on stage and perform. The Hamer Fan Club was founded in the 1990s by Ted Martin and is devoted to lovers of Hamer Guitars.
