hamerhead Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Used-1979-Hamer-Sunburst-Electric-Guitar-79-Flame-Top-with-case-/121018887090?pt=Guitar&hash=item1c2d49abb2...but what is that bridge?!?
bubs_42 Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Needs some Cream Rings, new pickups and a Sustainblock..... I hate the HFC BTW, I bought the damn thing, which is the last thing I needed. $900 not broken and I have all the missing pieces. Actually that bridge is shimmed. I don't have a shimmed bridge That looks like a Charvel Type Bridge.
Bobby Marshall Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Nice snag considering, you got the parts to correct her. Except the shim bridge. How do you source that? Ed Roman must have bought those out during one of the Hamer moves right?
sunburst99 Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I Turn away for 10 min and look what happens!!!!! good snag Bubs, especially if you have the parts!!
bubs_42 Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Well, parts, I have parts.LOL. I'll have to dig around, i'm not worried about pups but the Shimmed Bridge is going to be a pain but I do have a Sustainblock. I've been wanting a 78 for a long time but I am completely happy with the guitar I have now. I just have a horrible addiction to Sunburst's.
sunburst99 Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I shoulda beat you too it darnit ....been looking for a sunburst for a while now!!! Congrats on the sunburst. Also, so it was a 78??? the listing said 79....I didnt get a look at the headstock
crunchee Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Nice! Congrats on the snag, Bubs! What, nobody's commented on the bullseye Grovers yet?
bubs_42 Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Nice! Congrats on the snag, Bubs! What, nobody's commented on the bullseye Grovers yet? LOL, I held back on that one.

I just have a horrible addiction to Sunburst's.Be careful - a standard sustain=block won't match either the screw holes or the string holes. I believe from athe diagram that a Warmoth narrow spaced strat hardtail bridge is best using your sustain block saddles. There are vintage Mighty Mite bridges (correct type) on ebay but for silly money.
RichRS6 Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Damn, go to sleep for a minute and look what happens bubs scores a bargain.A short headstock 78, didn't think that change happened until 79.Strange that someone who deals in so many high end guitars would not have put a higher price on it.I had to quickly check his stock to make sure he didn't have any 4 digits standards he needed to shift quick.
hamerhead Posted November 13, 2012 Author Posted November 13, 2012 I shoulda, but Shawn needed it more.

Steve Haynie Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 If you ever need someone to store your cool guitars let me know.
Brentrocks Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 WOW!!! deal of the decade!!! Congrats bubs!!!
santellavision Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Ed Roman must have bought those out during one of the Hamer moves right?Ed Roman passed away.
bubs_42 Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I'm sure it will have a story or two to tell when it arrives. Who know's whats under that bridge.
bubs_42 Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Kahler route. It could be, it's a crap shoot some times isn't it?
peedenmark7 Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Looks like a dimarzio high mass bridge to me... that or the newer mighty mite reissue.
