Joe G Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 I received the guitar and the seller agrees it is not as advertised. PM me in the next day or so if anyone is interested at what I paid $1,481 plus shipping and any PP fees. I will provide full details of condition. Otherwise, it goes back to seller. Thanks,Joe
Feynman Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Oh man, what the heck happened to this one!? Damnit. This is a real shame.

RichRS6 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Tell us more ...........................With pics if possible.
ARM OF HAMER Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 Hi Joe, Well I lost to you in the auction so.................what exactly are the issues with the Hamer that are not in the description? I thought that it showed more play wear on the back then when a former owner posted photos of it for sure but I knew that going in to bid..............that obviously did not stop me. Someone here on the forum who talked to the seller said the PUPS were switched and that there were "Scatterbrains" in the guitar currently and that the owner was going to put the "Originals" back in before the guitar was shipped but then we don't know what WAS in it when he got it so.............. The shipping thing[PRICE] I thought was nuts.............I'm in Minnesota and I shipped a guitar[25 Lb. BOX] to Rhode Island by USPS Priority Mail insured for $1,200.00 with Signature Confirmation and he got it in 2 days.....cost $89.00..............this guy lives in Michigan [so pretty much right next door to me] and he wanted what $106.00!.......... but said no more than $130.00 tops. WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????? If I had won I planned to dispute the shipping cost to Ebay which I thought was clearly a gouge for shipping funds...............Hell I shipped a guitar to Germany USPS Express International and it only cost $120.00. OK,OK enough of the rant about shipping but it just gets my goat when people are stupid about such things. I wanted the guitar so..............neck cracked?,Twisted?,junk PUPs,other repair issues? not what you thought was coming so................share.................. whats up on the guitar. And photos would be good to see the problems with the instrument. You have others here interested as well so look forward to seeing your response. : )
cynic Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Yeah, what gives? There's no reason to keep it a secret, especially if both parties are in agreement that there's something not quite right about it.
scoville Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 i asked for closeups of the front and back of headstock early in the auction which he replied would take a couple days but he never did send them. even after subsequent requests. decided he was likely hiding something.was it a headstock problem?
veatch Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 ...and since Kiz called dibs, is he obligated to buy?
kizanski Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 ...and since Kiz called dibs, is he obligated to buy? Not unless Joe G posts what's wrong with the guitar. Anyway, I'm tapped from Monday's NHD.

Joe G Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Crabs, hehe.No breaks, but there is damage not disclosed in the auction and I am still out funds. I PM'd those who expressed an interest in taking the guitar from me and there are no takers. I'd probably buy it for $200 less, but this was not discussed with seller because he said he wants it back - but he needs a couple more days. I will let you all know the details when the funds are returned and this hassle is over with.
Joe G Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 DMK,LI.I PM'd everyone except for Kiz and George4th - your message boxes are full.
kizanski Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Dude.... Just post it here! You already posted that the guitar wasn't as advertised, now finish the job. What's the point of keeping the information on the DL?
george4th Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 PM box is now not full, sorry about that Joe.Thanks G
Hamer Dave Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Wow! I bid to win, but you guys took this way up. I really struggled to appreciate this 'unfinished' finish. So, what were the issues?? I see everyone asking, but no one is saying???? WTF.
ARM OF HAMER Posted February 8, 2013 Author Posted February 8, 2013 With as far off in left field as the guitar was in regards to the listing description Joe will be 100% with getting a refund back no doubt. As to why people do this............who knows? but to have that many issues with a guitar and not state them clearly in the listing and NOT think your going to run into trouble when the buyer gets it...................just plan stupid in my book............the road you leave behind you is the one you have to come back down.
