murkat Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 I have done up a few sunbursts, and each one is different, a story to tell, totally different then the other. Quite amazing. And each one hand made, hand wired, setup, etc. I can see, feel that in each one. This one, also has its own story. And will continue to do so.
Bobby Marshall Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Love it. Good for sitting in with a 20 piece orchestra or a three piece rock trio!

murkat Posted June 29, 2013 Author Posted June 29, 2013 Well, it is boxed up...But,...Oh, and I do have a couple Kahler units here...Ummmmm.
hamerhead Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 And you can't see it, but the screw through the binding on the side wasn't that special, either.
kizanski Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 WTF is wrong with some people?Do they want a Les Paul so badly that they think they can fool themselves?Good job Tim (and Jay)!
Toadroller Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 And you can't see it, but the screw through the binding on the side wasn't that special, either. See, now, that ain't right! Good on you for setting it straight.
hamerhead Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 The idea was to fix the problems while retaining it's age, so it'll still have some checking and bumps and bruises. A 'corrected relic'?Can't wait to see it.
hamerhead Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Jay told me what the neck pickup was, but I don't remember.......the bridge is a Super Distortion that appeared to be original.
specialk Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Nice one, Hamerhead. Congrats! And props to Murkat on his great work.
hamerhead Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Got it on Friday. It is very well done. No more holes in the face, fixed (spectacularly) a bad nut job, left some signs of wear and tear - very well done.It plays great, but I haven't even plugged it in yet. Maybe tonight........
Bobby Marshall Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 left some signs of wear and tear - very well done.Jay did the same thing on a Sunburst for me. Let the original history of the instrument continue on. It is not relicing. Maybe he should call it testifying.
