zorrow Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 As always drop me a line at Hamstd@gmail.com if you are looking for something or of course parting with something interesting. I'll make my statement public: I would love to find a Vector with a chunky neck. I don't mind if it's vintage or recently built, or if it's korina or mahogany, or whether it has a pointy headstock or the paddle-like ugly one. A fixed bridge is a must though --well, a sustainblock trem can also do. So man, if you ever stumble upon something close to those specs, I would like to be the first in line.
Ting Ho Dung Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Yeah - send the wife shopping and call a bunch of women to come over.I know I know - wishful thinking. From what I've learned, you are supposed to place a pipe-like utensil over it of appropriate length and girth to where the top is about a half-inch shy in length. With your other hand you are supposed to smack down on the top where it gives that "thoop" sound. Takes care of said priapism. Might knock you out of your boots though. Well, depending on your taste in bars.
Hamerica Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Thanks folks for the kind words. Definitely a passion of mine to wave the "Hamer and guitar addiction flags" proudly!!!Stay tune for some pics to come as I recently cracked the cases on some "old friends" to come out for a photoshoot. You might just see something a little unique and not so off-the-shelf.As always drop me a line at Hamstd@gmail.com if you are looking for something or of course parting with something interesting.ThanksPeterWho the hell needs Viagra when stuff like this is around fo' free?!?! Looking forward to the upcoming posts. Hamerica

mc2 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Even if I am outing myself as totally ignorant - what it the "Fung collection"? Help or even link to enlighten me is very much appreciated. Thanks Go to IKEA....strap ALL of the beds on display together and put about ten cinder blocks under each leg. NOW fill up all the space underneath with the coolest, most unique Hamers ever made, many signed by the original rock star legens owners...and many others never seen by mere mortals. THAT is just the chum castoffs of the "FUNG Collection!" He keeps his REALLY cool stuff under Elvis' original round bed, which he sleeps on with Victoria Secret models fanning him with palm leaves, according to legend. A little known secret: there is a hidden room in the house where he keeps a brother he calls "David" stashed, who also collects still more rare guitars!! Peter is a scientist, so possibly the brother is really just a clone of himself. No one really knows. ....but I heard he has Nancy Wilson locked in there too, as of a month ago. She thought she was just coming over to sign her guitar
ScubaMarket Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 In the early 2000's Dave Hlubek said his son had that Confederate Flag Standard. That guitar is one of the few rock star owned pieces that would make me want to do something silly to acquire it. Molly Hatchet came around every six months back in my high school days. That guitar and the Petschulat Flying P were iconic. Around 1980 my friends and I were allowed to see the hatchet shaped guitar that was used in early band photos. For Gene & Haynie...
BTMN Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Dave let a good one go. Glad I snagged that one. And now you have lit Dr. Fung's G.A.S. again no doubt.
cmatthes Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 I remember that MH shot from an old Circus Magazine article!
