zorrow Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 So if I want a nice colored Tally - say, trans blue or trans black or so - and Gorch doesn't want to sell his, all I have to do is wait...? Sounds good... :-) Oh! Wait a minute! I called dibs on Gorch's Tally -or did I?
BTMN Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 You might not find those in his collection but you would find a Red or White FB or a sweet 4 digit or four.
coolfeel Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 And one-off Calis and Chaps and Watsons and - and - and...
zorrow Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 ...and Vectors and other pointy stuff, sometimes even previously owned by rock stars.
Tres Aardvarks Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 I keep hoping that one day, on one of my trips to Peter's neck of the woods, I can sneak my way into his secret lair and see some of his amazing collection.
cmatthes Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 2nd: Will he be able to show them all in one group shot? You can see it from Google Earth or some satellite shots where it hasn't been obscured/scrambled.
tommy p Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 I met Peter at the Hamer book signing and we spent a good 20 minutes going through pics of his collection on his iPad. I had to get paper towels to wipe my drool off the screen.
ScubaMarket Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 I'm still waiting on Peter to get out of his bath and whip out a pick of the MH Rebel Flag Standard... That sucker is hid like the Holy Grail...
tommy p Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 I'm still waiting on Peter to get out of his bath and whip out a pick of the MH Rebel Flag Standard... That sucker is hid like the Holy Grail... There are tons of pics of it (and other Hamers) in action on the "original" Molly Hatchet FB page.
ScubaMarket Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 I'm still waiting on Peter to get out of his bath and whip out a pick of the MH Rebel Flag Standard... That sucker is hid like the Holy Grail... There are tons of pics of it (and other Hamers) in action on the "original" Molly Hatchet FB page. Yep, I live in Jax. I've talked to Dave, DJB's wife etc etc and that sucker has vanished. That and BTMN's Hamer standard Sherry babay... ive had my eye on for 35 years
Steve Haynie Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 In the early 2000's Dave Hlubek said his son had that Confederate Flag Standard. That guitar is one of the few rock star owned pieces that would make me want to do something silly to acquire it. Molly Hatchet came around every six months back in my high school days. That guitar and the Petschulat Flying P were iconic. Around 1980 my friends and I were allowed to see the hatchet shaped guitar that was used in early band photos.
BTMN Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Fung has wanted Sherry Baby almost as long as I have been an HFC member but she is a Southern Girl, Florida babe in particular, and she can NOT be convinced to be a California girl at all. She is in The Book as well.
ScubaMarket Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 OK I haven't been on here in a long while. So please oblige my ignorance and whats the book? BTW Gene my offer always stands to bring her back to Jax.
django49 Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 So, what would be great would be "The Book, Part Two: The Fung Edition."
Nathan of Brainfertilizer Fame Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 I met Peter at the Hamer book signing and we spent a good 20 minutes going through pics of his collection on his iPad. I had to get paper towels to wipe my drool off the screen.Dang.I tend to get a little shy around legends, so I said hi to Peter, but not much more. If I'd realized he had pictures of his collection with him, I'd have been crowding in to look over your shoulder...
specialk Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 OK I haven't been on here in a long while. So please oblige my ignorance and whats the book? PM Serial. BTMN Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 What he posted! Book Two should be a Photo Book with full page shots if at all possible.
Never2Late Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 What he posted! Book Two should be a Photo Book with full page shots if at all possible. If I may be so bold (a stretch), I want larger photos in the next book, too....
Montelovesco Posted January 30, 2014 Author Posted January 30, 2014 Can't help, but it sounds like the Keyzer Soze (The usual suspects) of Hamer... :-)))
ArnieZ Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Peter is as nice a guy as you could hope to meet, very approachable, despite a collection that could make any guitar lover weep!ArnieZ
hamerhead Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Plus, his name is Peter.I'm green with envy.

HamStd Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Thanks folks for the kind words. Definitely a passion of mine to wave the "Hamer and guitar addiction flags" proudly!!!Stay tune for some pics to come as I recently cracked the cases on some "old friends" to come out for a photoshoot. You might just see something a little unique and not so off-the-shelf.As always drop me a line at Hamstd@gmail.com if you are looking for something or of course parting with something interesting.ThanksPeter
