hamerhead Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 http://www.ebay.com/itm/1980-Hamer-USA-Standard-4-digit-serial-number-0537-WOW-656-/121282460748?pt=Guitar&hash=item1c3cff7c4cReal nice.
Disturber Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Pickup screws not original. That will knock the price down in at least half, lol. Saddle looks new, or just moved.Very nice looking fiddle. Love the asking price.
Hbom Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 A little bit out of my league price wise. But it's pretty!
Hamerica Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Nice piece of Hamer History. Very nice four digit, worth the look. Hamerica
serial Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 I've bought a couple guitars from this guy and they arrived in perfect shape quicker than guitars from a few states away.
Andrew Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Very pretty! It's a later 81. Anorak fact: the octave side dots are widely spaced, just a few numbers earlier and they would be narrow spaced. Although Standards were not made alongside the other models they were using the same fingerboards. Still a one piece neck although later on Standards also got a multi-piece neck. Not sure exactly when but certainly there are four-digit 'stressed-system' necks after 1982.
gorch Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Very nice!Price includes hours to post picks I assume.
jelly.roll Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 very nice but very expensive to me too !!! snifff!
oldskoolrulz Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 From the description it looks as if he'll take reasonable offers, any ideas as to what that would be? $5000 plus I'm assuming?
Never2Late Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 From the description it looks as if he'll take reasonable offers, any ideas as to what that would be? $5000 plus I'm assuming?I was thinking $4,500, but $5,000 is probably sound - the guitar likely needs nothing but a setup and cleaning.

Sparky Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 I'm not too familiar with "vintage" guitars (if 1980 is vintage, I'm getting old). What about these cracks? Are they anything serious?
G Man Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 While I can't be sure, they sure look like finish checking and nothing to worry about. Boy, if only that whole "rising tide raises all boats" thing held true, we'd all be sitting pretty.
Harald Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Price including 20 guitar lessons from Rick Nielsen???😜😜😜😜😜😳
ARM OF HAMER Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Yes Rick IS included in the sale for the guitar.
mc2 Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 For the listing price, you can buy James Honeyman Scott's' Hamer 4-digit Standardand probably have Chrissie Hynde hand deliver it.
singlehum Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Is that case original/correct for the time frame?
ScubaMarket Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Nice 4 digit. Finish cracks on neck as shown typical as my 79 had the same thing. Bet he gets around $6350 for it ... Smart business man to do the insane asking price and take the offer that suits. I've also seen other guitars he has listed and he seems to be legit. Shit Id pay 5k for it myself
serial Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I'd move #0017 for that coin... Mine's older, cleaner and has the original case though.
ScubaMarket Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 $6350 for #0017?... paypal on the way...serial I think I know how the guy came up with the price and it makes me smile. I ebay search HAMER every morning for the highest price. weird crap comes up like heavy machinery etc always for around 16k. A Hamer guitar is finally at the top of the search and for the first time ever..lol
Never2Late Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 For the listing price, you can buy James Honeyman Scott's' Hamer 4-digit Standardand probably have Chrissie Hynde hand deliver it.I'm still hoping this is available when I hit the lottery....
serial Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 $6350 for #0017?... paypal on the way...serial I've been offered twice that and had another offer within a few hundred of that, so I was talking about the auction asking price.
singlehum Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 I've bought guitars from that seller before. Always a positive experience. Is that case original/correct for the time frame?
Andrew Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Is that case original/correct for the time frame? No! It should be red-lined, black tolex with white piping/stitching and a gold 'Hamer USA' logo.
