The neck on this girl is absolutely perfect for me. It just feels _right_. An absolute joy to play. I have to admit that I was surprised at how different she sounds from my '81 special. She has a much more crunchy, rock and roll kind of voice. I suspect that a lot of that has to do with this: Any chance anyone can tell me what that is? I'm guessing that's not it's original pickup, right? It's probably a longshot unless I pull it out for a better look (which I'm hesitant to do right now), but you never know. Hamerhead, Thanks! Any idea what the scoop is with the string spacing being slightly wider than the pole pieces on the super distortion in the bridge? If it makes any difference sonically, I honestly can't tell. It sounds great. Just curious if it's something particular to that pickup, or whether any humbucker would do that in that spot.

Bastard.Kidding aside, he was great and his enthusiasm reduced my separation anxiety. Those 2 were meant to be together, and I'm happy it found him and he's diggin' it.

The Black Hamer Sunbursts look so classy to me and these older ones from 78/79 seldom show up............. thats one rare guitar and in great condition. I love mine.............yeah it has the Kahler and locking nut and changed 79 X2N Dimarzio in the bridge but it plays and sounds great.................... Massive through my Pearce G2R. I'm so glad I scored mine! Congrats!
