savethematches Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 I can't afford to buy one for myself, so let me live vicariously through your prize possessions!
raymund Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Welcome, here is my Chap Bolt On with SD pickups, FR and an untreated maple neck.
Nuclear Wessel Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 My first Hamer. I'm not sure if the guys in Arlington Heights were thinking metal or new wave/synth pop when they chose the aesthetics for this one. It's not Pepto pink BTW, it pearl/metallic pink.
Michael_ Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 best thread ever! i can contribute some sparkly centaura action when i get home...
Armitage Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Lots of shredders around here, but sadly, no Hamers.
Brooks Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 are the set neck chap's 24.75" scale? if not, which shredders are 24.75"?
Jem Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Brooks, the first generation Chap's (85-86) were set neck and 24.75 scale and these can normally be identified by using 3 mini toggles for pickup selection, the set necks became 25.5 scale 87 onwards when the range was re-vamped although i'm sure there were a few with blade 5 way switchs that had a 24.75 scale but these may have been special ordered at the time.Jem
KeyOfZ Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Here's my 1995 Diablo - At some point I need to get Jumbo 6100 frets on it but it plays/sounds figgin wicked.
savethematches Posted December 1, 2005 Author Posted December 1, 2005 Lots of shredders around here, but sadly, no Hamers. Go ahead and post! I like other shredders too.
Nuclear Wessel Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Go ahead and post! I like other shredders too. OK. A little non-Hamer shreddage. My bottom feeder Medley. All koa DC127 One of the classiest looking shredders I've ever seen:
Jimbilly Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 2 of these are now safely in other hfc'rs collections and this may qualify
Jimbilly Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Oh crap!, I almost forgot the shredder basses! and I just like this lineup and a non-hamer
Hamer95USA Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Hey shredheads, Here are some pictures of my guitars: 1990 Chapparal Elite 90 1994 Diablo II Guitar George
Lockbody Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Here's my '90 Californian Elite.***Guitar George, if you ever sell that Chap, lemme know.***
hamerboy_ Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Here's a couple. Crap pic on short notice. Enlarge it in the lower right corner and you might be able to make them out a little better. -Bobby
Hamer95USA Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Here's my '90 Californian Elite.***Guitar George, if you ever sell that Chap, lemme know.*** Hey Lockbody, I dig the matching finish on your Californian Elite. Wow!! I thought I was the only guy with the irridiscent finish on my Hamer. Those guitars could be sisters. It was probably done by the same guy doing the same finish, since it's they're both the same year. It's not for the sale, but I'll keep you in mind though. Hamer shredders rule!!! Guitar George
hamerboy_ Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Hey Guitar George, you probobally couldn't make this one out in my CRAP pic. -Bobby
Hamer95USA Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Here's a couple. Crap pic on short notice. Enlarge it in the lower right corner and you might be able to make them out a little better. -Bobby Hey Hamerboy, I think you win the contest for the biggest collection of Hamer USA shredder guitars. Dude, you have Chapparals w & w/o Sustainiac, 1st generation Chapparals, Californians, and Diablo & Diablo II guitars. Plus, almost all of them have the boomerang inlay. Beautiful collection!!! When can I come over to jam on them? Guitar George
Hamer95USA Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Hey Guitar George, you probobally couldn't make this one out in my CRAP pic. -Bobby Hey hamerboy, Dude, that's is totally sweet!!! Where is the Schaller tremolo bridge? What year is that? Does the sustainiac work on it? I tried a Sustainiac system on an old Chapparal Hamer guitar 10 years ago. Maybe we can start the iridiscent Hamer shredder guitar club? Guitar George
hamerboy_ Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Hey George. Again, my pic sucks! Bridge is safe and sound on my work-bench. Before the schematics were readily available on the opening page, Gene (BTMN) supplied me with one so I could try EMG's with the Sustainiac. Works like a charm. Just one of many projects that haven't made it to completion. I'm a huge fan of the Sustainiac. As a matter of fact, I saw Journey on Saturday evening in Canton (MikeC, were you there?). Neal uses the Fernandes sustainer on his sig. Les Paul's. I've got some othere projects in the works that will all get Sustainiacs. Here's a pic of some cheap ASI guitars that came stock with Sustainiacs; I don't think I paid more that $100 for any of 'em. And they all work. I remember when you found your Chap. Did you get that from someone in Fla.? I sold one exactly like that on ebaY a couple of years ago. -Bobby
atquinn Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Here you go: The Diablo The Cali (taken by the guy that sold me the guit) Great guitars!! But I'd like to add a set-neck Cali to the collection someday . -Austin
