ARM OF HAMER Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Not far from me......................Black is cool!
atquinn Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 They should've gone the whole 9 yards and done an ebony fretboard with crowns. Still looks nice though. I wonder if the top is the usual spruce or if it's maple? I seem to recall them not wanting to do solid colors on spruce?-Austin
Caddie Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 What? No Bigs! Needs more metal.Cheers!caddie
pirateflynn Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Take that puppy into the stratosphere by adding zebras.
Hfan Posted February 28, 2015 Author Posted February 28, 2015 cannot see from out of the us.... Here you go:

I only knew for sure of 3 before they nixed it, but there very well could be others. (at one time it was Buzzy Frets, JES180, and myself). Mine was an 00, and this one is an 01, so it's possible it is spruce.
ghamerinfrance Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 A newport PRO apparently...nice one and attractive price
kizanski Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 BO-ring... What? No Bigs! Needs more metal. Right you are... Take that puppy into the stratosphere by adding zebras. Or creme rings. Here's a Newport I received from Badger Dave in one of our Herschel Walker-esque trade deals. I only held on to it for a short while, but it's one of the more bad-ass Newports I've ever seen, even with the 10th Victory inlay.
cmatthes Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 The only thing wrong with the Kiz one above is no F-hole binding and that 10th fret inlay.Wow.
kizanski Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 The only thing wrong with the Kiz one above is no F-hole binding and that 10th fret inlay.Wow. That, and it's not a SuperPro. Once I played one, I saw the Newport as SuperFluous. God that fuckin tenth inlay, what the hellI know. Ruins the guitar, IMO.
atquinn Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 The only thing wrong with the Kiz one above is no F-hole binding and that 10th fret inlay bigsby.Wow.Fixed.-Austin
JES1680 Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Hard to tell from the pics if it's spruce or not mine was and you could easily see the grain through the paint. Hmmmm its local... Never tried a maple top Newport. Course knowing pawn shops they probably want $2500 for it. Worth a look though.

That BadgerDave sure has an eye for classic beauty and apparently he has a fat wallet too. i trust that somebody had the decency to put PhatCats on that beauty. Cheers! caddie
ARM OF HAMER Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Anyone want to put forth a guess on how much the pawn gave the former owner for this HAMER NEWPORT? The only guitar I bought from a Pawn was a 90's Fender "Flame Elite" that kind of looked like a Ibanez "Artist" it was a Candy Red and it WAS mint! I gave $900.00 for it and while that was not a bargain price the guitar was worth that.
Sugartune Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Nice one. No grain coming through the finish, so...maple top?
