PaGator Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Sorry to hear about that, great looking guitar, as previously said, very difficult to move that one other than a private sale. Good luck getting her back.
sled Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 This happened in October and DHL still has not payed out the claim! That is horse shit! From the sound of it the guitar was in transit and had not been delivered. What does it take for them to honor a lost shipment claim?
Hamer95USA Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I'm sorry to hear your guitar got lost during shipment to an out of state buyer who's on this forum. I hope that the guitar turns up and arrives to the seller in a timely manner or that the shipping company's insurance company will do the right thing and pay you for your lost guitar. I offer good vibes to you as I had a Japanese Charvel guitar stolen out of my vehicle in San Francisco about a couple of days before 9/11/2001.Guitar George
jelly.roll Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 hey,Share on facebook group in FranceGood luck cheersjean-louis
sixesandsevens Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Muscle your way through the bureaucracy and then see if some kind NJ HFCer will act as your duly appointed representative to get the package and see what's up.
6onthesly Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Do you have a police report in San Fransisco? If so, please post it. I am not far from San Fransisco, and If I hear of it, I'll help you gt it back.
ppreichm Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 As the buyer, I share the deep frustration over this loss. Please all to know that Peter Angelov (seller) was prompt to refund my payment and he is a stand up man. I am very disappointed to learn DHL has not made good on the insurance. If DHL does not come through, I will share half the loss with you. let's stay in touch.Brgds, Peter Reichmeider
Hamerica Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 That sucks on the look out for you.Best wishes,Hamerica
Boomerang~Junkie Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 This is also something their Postal Inspectors should be investigating - ask if they have opened an investigation on it. If not, request one be opened - in writing (paper). Yes, via snail mail - which is what got you into this CF in the first place. Among other things, the P.I.'s. handle the formal investigations related to internal theft and a host of other crimes inside the USPS. ETA: I f*cking HATE thieves. Messing with someone's wife, girlfriend, car/truck, bike, guitar and horse used to be a minimum straight up ass-stomping. In some circles, this will still get you capped. Best of luck to you.
Aceldama Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 I'm in the SF Bay Area an will keep my eye out for it...

Caddie Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Since your current approach isn't getting any results other than colitis, try this. Start here The Rolling Stones, Delivered by DHL Clearly DHL finds value in links to rock music, notice it wasn't the Boston Philharmonic they spotlighted, its the World's Biggest Rock 'n' Roll Band. You trusted your most beautiful, treasured axe to the same hands that Jagger & Richards entrusted their instruments. Please find it for me with the same vigor you would give to Keith Richards favorite, #1 Telecaster if it was lost while in DHL's hands. Find the highest exec if you can't find him/her by drilling into their website take a look at their 10k filing too. Or call DHL and ask for the person on charge of partnerships/music_and_arts/ Find the name of the highest exec that you can find at DHL. Send that person all ya got, Pictures, pictures, pictures, especially in-live-action. an appraisal if possible, tracking numbers, copies of shipping docs, logs of all comm you've had with DHL people, email and verbal, do it by old school snail mail. That way it gets passed to the proper organizational layer with signatures on paper. When the recipient knows that the paper was actually touched by Mister Big, the Moose and Squirrel will make it happen Natasha, bwahahaha. The recipient can't let it slide, can't get away with saying it accidently got into your trash file (it can be found, just ask the F.B.I.), whatever bad excuse comes to mind. You'll always know that Mr. Big wants it done. So will Mr. Big's legions of assistants. Achtung Baby! UPS Customer Service had put me thru the usual wringer of levels of supervisors, etc, etc, etc. The game is designed to wear you out and disappear. Maybe I was that unique, lucky pig who found that one acorn but the approach got me a check in about 10days and a personal letter from a UPS Exec VP of Navel Gazing. Apologizing and including a gen-yew-wine UPS Pen & Pencil set. But it worked, here i am 11 years later singing the praises of UPS. Give it a try, what do you have to lose, they already lost your beloved axe. Try a different approach, by-pass the usual Customer DisService Dept Mouse Trap. The patient and persistent predator eats, the others starve. Or eat road kill, yucky eeeuuu! Best of luck Cheers! caddie
dhuber Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Hamer Sunburst not to make light of your loss, but remember the time I shipped you the Artist from the States to Germany with no tracking and it arrived. Wow, and now this. I'm wondering if when a person ships a guitar, if they shouldn't declare the value as $100 to make it less attractive for theft? As I recall the two Hamer's you had were this Studio and the Artist. Are you Hamerless now, if so what other guitars are you playing? I hope your guitar is found.
cmatthes Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Are you trying to contact them via their Redwood City, CA address or their Plantation, FL address? Have you contacted the office of the President via the website yet?
