kizanski Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Oh. Disappointing. I thought Mike was making Firebirds.

deadringer Posted May 10, 2017 Posted May 10, 2017 Damn! I was there Saturday afternoon and must have missed him. I wish I would have seen this thread beforehand. I didn't even know he was supposed to be there. Mike, are you going to be at the Arlington guitar show in October? It's the better show in my opinion. For the sheer amount of guitars anyways.

Deadringer, I knew he was in the building, I missed the booth the first time around and was looking for it! I happened to be speaking with Jeff R and Vonnie right before Jeff spied a certain "Mr. Scary" when Mr. Shishkov unwittingly walked upon us. Guitarmageddon, Guitarlington, or whatever the next marketing sales mark the Amigos want to put on it, is as Deadringer pointed out the more "guitar centered" focus of the two events. I really have mixed feelings here. On one hand I want Mike to make the Dallas and Arlington Shows as a regular scheduled event. On the other, I want another thread to have some updated posts! What's been going on in the shop - next chapter. Don't want Mike to get too comfortable away from the shop and I am sure Mike is already hard at it. Hamerica

I think I could have spent all weekend just chewing the fat with Mike about guitars and anything and everything else under the sun. Already looking forward to the next time. Now that is a pair of Cool Cats from opposite sides of this planet and I feel blessed to have met both.

Hamerica I had a very interesting call with the man himself yesterday afternoon. He was indeed hard at it. I tried not to distract him for too long.
HamStd Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Did you hear the one about two fat guys get into a half-ton truck........oh never mind...... Loves you Hamerica, don't know about you but it took a good 24 hours before the ticker started up again.
Northfield Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 Sorry, I've been slacking lately when it comes to on-line stuff. Dallas was an absolute blast, and I'm glad Todd talked me into coming down and sharing his booth space. I met a ton of very cool people and was able to finally meet up with several HFCers that I'm glad to call friends! Gary Hoey probably thought I was a fanboi stalker given the number of times I ran into him at the show and hotel - but man, what a nice guy and very down to earth. Spent some time with Seymour and his son talking about some new ideas and mission accomplished when I was able to get the protos into the hands of James Jiskra from VG mag. Thank you Hamerica, and the lovely Mrs Hamerica, for the hospitality and some outstanding BBQ. It was fun getting away for the evening and hanging out with all of you guys!
