gorch Posted January 27, 2021 Posted January 27, 2021 That is a stock Brian May guitar upgraded to original style knife edge tremolo and bridge. Pickups have been swapped to become more original sounding as the stock Burns come close, but not close enough to the originals. The white switches are very easy to handle. However, stylistically, they might not fit into a country music surrounding. The price is kind of a 50% upgrade to the list price of a stock Brian May guitar. Which, I think, is fair. RS Conversions is one of the few pro builders in this field. Transparent green is a standard color for these btw.

As you all know the original was built from bits and pieces of this and that by Brian and his father and has still held up to this day with the original frets!. I love Brian's playing and he is one of the best guitarists in the world but I have never been wanting a copy of his guitar. I played several of the Guild version when they came out...................Nope!

But, I bought an '84 guild (see post above) for a great deal that I thought I would just flip, because of the Kahler and stories I'd heard about them. Got the guitar, played it and fell in love. Super well built, sounds great, no Kahler issues (other than it's a Kahler 😀), I'll likely never sell it.

Particularly, I like the sound of the RS very much. It clearly is a strong rocker, wonderfully resonating without the tone falling over the cliff, while at the same time offers a unique, partly acoustic like clean neck pickup tone. And, of course, all the strangeness and crazyness in between as to the plenty switching options. Mine gets a lot of playing time though.
