PSA: Hamer Artist Korina

Yeah, I instantly recognized that one as well. Seems someone got it off Reverb and didn't love it.

So ... they're trying to make profit with Music Zoo? Good luck

Assuming it isn’t a rare Hamer dog,  those are all easy mods…maybe the hideous harmonica bridge sounds fab? If so, I’d leave it. The aesthetics of the pickups do bother me and that thing needs REAL P90s. Tuners are Schallers which Hamer used as OEM along with Grover’s so maybe they are original? A quality tuner either way.

The Korina looks pretty too. I love mine in jazzburst.

Yeah, you can get a set of EMG 81/85 pickups in P90 housing.  Like the old comic book magic ads:  fool everyone!

Edit:  I agree though, some P90s should live there.

The thing that bugs me about this sales listing is something I see often online, even at DGS on occasion (though not nearly as often as other shops).  It's like the copywriters can't read or don't even look at the guitar (the tuners look kinda like Grovers but they clearly have a 'Schaller' brand name on them, duh), they just parrot the canned description from an old catalog or book, or just don't freakin' care...like one old guitar is the same as another, regardless of whether it is or isn't. <_<  What happened to integrity, accuracy, or at least a decent work ethic?  Something tells me that whatever amount of money that some inexperienced know-nothing 'employee'  gets paid to do this, in some cases it's still way too much.    Now, it's time to say: GET OFF MY LAWN!

I really like mini-humbuckers in my Artist Korina P90.  That reminds me, thank you, to start an NGD thread.

Well, gawDANG! Look at the listing now. New copy, description and mistakes fixed. I wonder who helped them out with that?🤔

It’s got “the neck.”

Easily fixed the stupid parts are.

Offer still stands on the Nickel Gotoh stoptail. A USPS small box away….

Interesting that so many don't like the TP6 bridge. Is it because you have used one and it didn't do what it's designed to do? Or because you don't like the look?

For me it's because the threads on the tuners are too coarse... they need to be finer threads for a more precise tuning...

Neither. The TP6 is an answer to question that was never asked. Why add the weight and mechanical crap when you have modern tuners with 18:1 (or better) gear ratios?

Because it was invented in the 70's when everyone assumed mass/weight contributed to tone and sustain

Truth. I think the one I have is maybe a 4x32 which isn't exactly fine thread.

Mine came on a gib lp that the former owner's guitar tech added in an effort to counter neck dive. Didn't really work so I got the LP pretty cheap. Changing tuner buttons worked much better. TP6 to the drawer.

But it doesn't do that! If anything, I think mine kills sustain. Last time I tried it was on a 335 and I thought it made it sound muddy compared with the oem stoptail.

I'm just glad nobody said because it's butt ugly.

Yes to the mass/weight/tone/sustain theory. My favorite guitar for a long time was a Gibson ES-347. It did have the TP-6, along with a big brass nut. Add the "Dirty Finger" pickups and a useful coil split and it was a monster. I think I ended up getting about 6 of them. Way back when, you could frequently pick 'em up around Los Angeles for around $400. If I was smarter, I'd have kept all of them until their value as a scarce collectible rose. But I moved on.....Traded the last one here long ago.

I probably still do have one TP-6 in the parts drawer. And I suspect it will stay there.
