crunchee Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 Yeah, I know, It's already sold (no affiliation, BTW), but y'all might wanna look at it anyway. I can't post photos (damn computer issues!), so somebody else might want to do a screen grab of it before it's gone: https://www.davesguitar.com/collections/all-products-latest/products/ic200-iceman-78
Dave Scepter Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 KILLER price!.. someone stole that guitar!
Jimbilly Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 about 8-10 years ago, I was still able to dig around in the back stock at one of the area pawn shops, got a '70s bolt on iceman for under $150 or something equally stupid cheap, it was really beatup, but still solid. I traded it for an '80s triple pup blue burst Destroyer, which I sold a couple of years ago. I've never been offered a good trade, I should have known.
JGale Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 As wild as they appear those are very appealing to me. I lurv that mahogany!

I can't post photos (damn computer issues!) It’s probably a browser setting, not the computer. Nothing is easier than copying an image, saving it to your desktop and using the, “add files”, link on the HFC. Or, operator error (no affiliation).

Doesn't get any easier than that.
Jeff R Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 Worth noting if you are intrigued but haven't experienced one in person, not only do they sound and play fantastic ... they are shockingly balanced and unexpectedly comfy whether seated or standing.
kizanski Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 How is this guitar under a grand? Am I completely off on the value of these?

My computer won't upload my OWN photos anymore, even through the 'card reader' or a flash drive. I get the feeling that I need to dump a lot of things and free up memory, and see if that helps. Or get something better than my old cheap-ass computer. And YES, it is Windows 10 compatible.

Test photo... seems to work, now I don't have to use Imgur to post photos... BTW, done via my phone~ Thanks for the tip Rob-a-roonie👍

If your hard drive is more than 75% full then its time to start deleting uneeded items. I don't know if Windows has a, "Disk Utility"-type app, but running that occasionally helps to tighten things up. Upgrading to a current, modern computer will most likely solve your web-sharing issues. The new ChromeBox desktops are cheap, powerful and run reliably for the most part. My late-2012 Mac Mini is on its last OS update (Catalina), so I'm WAY overdue for an upgrade. It still runs great, but I'm a bit behind the times.

The moms and dads who work 40+/hrs a week to feed their families? They're the REAL heroes.

hamerhead Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 I was never a fan. I don't know if it was the KISS connection (I was over it by then) or that lower horn dick-lookin' thing dangling down there. Being an Iceman, that shoulda been smaller anyways.

kizanski Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 That was a serious question, by the way - lol
princeofdarkness56 Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 I had an old 70’s something Iceman bolt on iirc Black, like Paul Stanley used. Got it in a trade from the bass player in the Chesterfield Kings. It had two Dimarzio’s Super Two’s in them. Didn’t really care for those pickups. Foolishly traded it a couple of years later. I should’ve taken the time to put in different pickups and a few other minor adjustments. Still a killer looking guitar that lets everyone know we won’t be playing any jazz numbers tonight.

If I was in anyway capable of playing jazz I would absolutely without a doubt show up to gigs with my Iceman or Mockingbird.

currypowder Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 If you like the vintage IC-210s and the connection to Steve Miller, I happen to have the Greco version of the same guitar, a 1978 Mirage M-800. I had sold it, but the buyer noticed an output dropoff in one of the positions (which I had not experienced) and sent it back. I'm kind of glad he did in hindsight as the pickup needed some attention. The triple coil pickup and 4 way switch is a unique beast and I trusted no one to sort it out except our own Josh Gravelin. I sent the pickup to him for an analysis, and he found that the issue was due to some pretty severe corrosion to the metal frame and pickup legs, eating through most of the solder connections. He has since taken the time to completely clean and reconnect everything and the pickup is on its way back to me as we speak. Now comes the hard part, reconnecting the pickup and switch to the guitar. I took plenty of photos and drew a diagram, but it's a little more complicated than my typical 2 lead pickup swap. Everyone should send luck my way! I doubt that I will sell it now that I know everything is in perfect working order. It's about as rare a guitar as you will find in the MIJ world, far rarer than the Ibanez version as it was made only for the Japan Domestic Market. I don't have pics of the completed pickup, but will have it in hand tomorrow. Here's the guitar and some of the pickup before pics from Josh.
