m chops Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 I am selling all of my stressed neck Hamers now that they make one-piece s Why? What's the difference tone wise? Didn't Hamer go to the stressed neck to avoid long term problems with twisting, etc?How about some details on the guitars? Thanks.
Luke Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Don't Californians have single piece maple necks? It is my inderstanding it is only the mahogany and korina necks were three piece.
serial Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Hamer apparently did go to the three piece stressed neck guitars to avoid twisting which happened to a fair number of the early single piece neck Sunbursts, but as I understand it, that had more to do with incompatibility on the out of house crown inlaid fingerboards.
Jem Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Don't Californians have single piece maple necks? It is my inderstanding it is only the mahogany and korina necks were three piece. All Cali's have three piece necks, Centaura's and Diablo's have one piece necks.

kurtsstuff Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Inetersted in the Cali's but I guess all the info on them is top secret or are these e-bay auctions somewhere?????....lol!
mario Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 I would like to see the Duotone. PM if you can, Thanks.
cmatthes Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 Steve is a class act and his guitars are truly "one-of-a-kind" instruments. If you've been looking towards a custom order, you could save some wait time on one of these!BTW, Steve - this isn't the Vector we were talking about earlier this year, is it? I thought you scrapped that idea!
polara Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 Holy cow. That Duotone is the finest guitar I have ever seen and played.Period.Anyone who doesn't know Steve, rest assured: he is honest, his guitars are immaculate, and you will NOT be disappointed. A great, generous, friendly guy whose hobby is collecting guitars as playable art that sometimes appreciates, sometimes depreciates, but always is wonderful to have.Dammit, if I had a house any more I'd mortgage it for that Duo!
gwayne Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Holy cow. That Duotone is the finest guitar I have ever seen and played.Period. Ditto that! The one time I played it I could NOT put it down. Considering his stable, that's quite a statement. If I had the extra scratch I would be all over it.
