  1. If it LOOKS that bad, just imagine the SMELL. Make sure your shots are up to date!
  2. Elduave and I are going to the DC show - the whole band got tickets together. It's going to be a fun night out for The Tolerators!
  3. You get first shot at it when that happens! You absolutely NAILED that 'burst...
  4. Still one of my favorites - super light Korina body blank and RF neck from the early 2000s Gene Baker bankruptcy auction, a killer flame maple billet I had lying around for years, and a NOS 1980 DiMarzio PAF ran through Murkat and Stike to create the Baker Frankenjunior...or whatever you want to call it.
  5. I'm not sure - something seems off to me... Sure, the Floyd, Tuners, knobs, all mounting screws (front and back) and switch tip have been switched, and the OBLs appear to be period-correct, but I am not sure about something that's really weird: the 2 piece flame top on the mahogany body. It's possible that it was an exceedingly rare custom order, but with something looking off with the logo shot that has the PRS and other Chap in the background being customized, I'm gonna say it was an '87 Chap that has been redone with a flame top and new parts. Just my $0.02...
  6. The tailpiece should lay flat on the face. If you really had issues or weren't able to intonate properly, you could probably drill out the Basswood body and plug with wider maple dowels or something, but that would be a lot of effort if you can get by "as-is". 12vers are FUN!
  7. "Monstrosity" is accurate. That think looks HORRIBLE.
  8. I'm just waiting for the Carondelet smoking pickup...
  9. N11CE!!! 🤘😜
  10. Looks like all 4 are back in stock as of this morning if anybody's still looking...
  11. As always, nobody does it better than NiteBob... A few HFC'ers got pics in this little clip too!
  12. These are pretty rare. Hamer built those between '85-'87 (as catalog models), so not surprisingly, most that you'll encounter tend to be from '86. They're tough to find and when they do pop up, they tend to vanish quickly. A beat up one without the case might sell for $3k these days, and some of the very few I've seen for sale in the last few years have been $5k or more.
  13. Newports are closer in size to an Artist or Studio than a 335.
  14. It's also not a fucking 1984!!!!!
  15. These are all screaming deals - I'm a big fan of Tech21 stuff, and they've never let me down over the decades!
  16. Sure! Many times the stamped/refurbished guitars were simply a finish issue or maybe even less than that, but as with yours, zero impact to playability whatsoever. Those will definitely qualify for the "great deal" category!
  17. Hamer didn't start making the import Cruisebass models until @1997. There is really no difference between the '97 product through the very early 2000s. They offered a 4 and 5 string model and 2-tone sunburst was an offered finish option. The "USED" and/or "2" stamp indicate that it was either a defective instrument sent for repair or one that had damage in shipping and was sent to Franklin or another rehab shop to repair and sell via a liquidator. The sticker number isn't really able to date the instrument, as that was added by the repair facility, and the import serial numbers aren't helpful for narrowing down the manufacturing date, unfortunately!
  18. No way that was earlier than 98. I'd say '99-03.
  19. I was saying I hoped it would be the slim taper so I wouldn't feel bad! I'm a big neck guy!!!
  20. This one would be the one I'd want, but not enough for a pair!
  21. I'm truly hoping to hear that this one didn't have a big, beefy neck... 🤞
