What about the whole ridiculous DUCK thing?? 🦆🦆🦆

Every time I see on my mind automatically flashes "jeepducker".. like "out of the way, jeepducker"

I do have to say, those cars are remarkably inoffensive compared to the fucking rivians, that car looks like Eugene Levy in your rear view mirror

I mostly associate Jeeps with sorority girls these days. In Oxford, that was the weapon of choice in between the Land Rover era and the new Bronco era for them.

Where do the white golf convertibles fit into this chronology?

Haha, as well before my time. I'm guessing prior to the Land Rover era, it was BMW 3-series and/or Mercedes C-Class. The G Wagon is a popular option too when you really want to show off how well-heeled the parents are.

The Chive?  What’s that?

BTW: Bought my first Jeep (a new Renegade) in ‘86.  Learned how to drive on my uncle’s ‘75 CJ-5 back in ‘82.  But I never got into the “club” mindset, aside from the aforementioned “Jeep wave.”
Really the only club I ever belonged to was with you clowns.

And this is why we keep you around.

I'm puzzled, too. Those were Paul's first two guitars. And they helped him launch the company, as they were his proof of concept. Seems like a factual post.

Those were probably his first two -production- prototypes.  He'd been making guitars for years before that.  I got to play a (one of the few) PRS Bass in 79 built 1-2 years before, and his bandmate played a PRS 6/12 double neck, same era.  He did fretwork on my brothers 60s Gibby Bass.

I saw one at night before I ever saw one during the day, and holy crap was I confused by the front end lighting. I kept on seeing it during the winter on the way home from work and had to search things like "stupid front end lights" until I found them. They only look a bit less dumb during the day, IMHO.

I believe I had to ask a friend what the hell it was, he really knows cars.. same thing with the Cyber "truck" LOL, you've got to wonder what sort of cock would drive a car like that.. probably pretty similar to the 200k Sprinter van buyer

There are many that agree. The original Les Paul custom guitars were all mahogany, and they didn't get maple top until they returned in 1969. Plenty of all mahogany guitars have great tone.

But then everyone became obsessed with the figured tops, and who could have the best one. From my days as a Carvin fan, it seems like the number one reason for people returning the top of the line models was that they didn't like the top, or didn't feel it was "good enough", even though it was awesome. They wanted something that pretty much looked like a desktop wallpaper, without the variation that I think gives wood such a fantastic look.

I like the look of a very well book-matched maple top, but I can't see keeping one that either looked generic, or was poorly matched, stained, or airbrushed.  So yes I definitely agree on that.

So, which ownership group is the most annoying: PRS Wood Librarians; Jeep Cultists; or Harley Hogs?

There's a new concept movie coming out on Netflix.  It's about a Biker group that breaks into the PRS factory & kidnaps a group of wood selection specialists and their prized wood.  Their mission: Get to the Burning Man festival with a large load of wood and half finished guitars to burn.  But they have a problem.  How do they get it there? They ride bikes.  Luckily they also kidnapped a Jeep Gladiator cult on the way to PRS, and, instead of using the 'Glads to haul the HOG'S, they filled 'em with the wood & Gits.

And they road off into the sunset...The end.

Answer to the question: None of those 3 are the most annoying when you throw a Netflix Original Movie into the mix.

Here is the order:

  1. Harley Owners: The black vests, the poseur "Accountant by day, biker by night" vibe... Total cringe and tops the list by a wide margin.

Hey, watch it!  I don't have a Harley, but the "Accountant by day" quip is a little hurtful.

All this old-head, poo poo-ing and teeth gnashing about ducking, Jeeps and Harleys amuses me.

I've got all 3 and  I'm okay with wearing shorts on stage :P; couldn't be happier. Life goes on. Y'all should, too

On the plus side, I've never once considered PRS anywhere near as desirable as any Hamer I've played.

Forgive my ignorance, but is that what you mean when you say "ducks" or jeepducker?
