Jay is awesome. I’ve never met him in person, but our worlds collided in many ways in California. He used to work the door at The Strand in Redondo Beach. We went to the same rock and metal clubs in Hollywood. He lived around the corner from me in the Berkeley Hills when he was going to school in the Bay Area.

Though we never met face-to-face, I’m 99.9% sure that we interacted at some point (our HFC IMs seemed to bear this out…).

I hope his journey to Valhalla is an easy one. Rest in power, Jay.

So sorry to hear,   I greatly enjoyed talking to him about the LA scene,  where

he saw Guns and Roses pre Appetite and deemed them sloppy AF... and explained

the switch from neon glam to more street (dirty biker chic).   His sense of humor 

seemed like it was formed in

rarified air...      R.I.P.
