iownit4 Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 The keyboard player doesn't help too much either !! http://www.youtube.com/results?search_quer...s&search=Search
princeofdarkness56 Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 And I use to think DLR was the reason for all of VH problems. This guy really needs help.
Punkavenger Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Hey, now I can tell my friends I sound just like EVH ... At least Johnny Thunders still rocked when he was high!
JohnnyThunders Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Hey, now I can tell my friends I sound just like EVH ... At least Johnny Thunders still rocked when he was high! Oh my does that suck, yes evertime I saw Johhny from 73-late 80's he could still play so much for EVH! Ouch!
BLuesBuster Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 oh crap, I don't know if it's sad or funny, but given who Ed used to be I tend to think the former
BCR Greg Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 I prefer to remember Eddie as this guy...
Guest JackButler Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 I prefer to remember Eddie as this guy... Plus Infinity!
sw686blue Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Time to hang up the guitar and enter de-tox.
jettster Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Maybe he was having a bad day?? Personal problems or something?
kurtsstuff Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Man.....I'll just say this......anybody that slags Eddie really needs to do a check up from the neck up and rethink their words.....I dare anybody to be "him" and come out unscathed....and No...I never really worshipped at the alter of Eddie but....he really did turn what was known as guitar playing on it's head for a couple of decades...Rant off
Dasein Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 .....I dare anybody to be "him" and come out unscathed.... Eddie had it all! What challenge was there to being him beyond the existential challenge that any of us face every day?
kurtsstuff Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 .....I dare anybody to be "him" and come out unscathed.... Eddie had it all! What challenge was there to being him beyond the existential challenge that any of us face every day? Nevermind...
tremolux Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 it's like he's the Howard Hughes of guitar.
iownit4 Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 Hey I love Eddie !! I just can't believe those clips , it's pretty bad .. well hopefully someday there could be a reunion..
marcnorth Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 That whole 29 seconds of video is not much to go by.The other one is a whole minute long and sounds like it was recorded with someones cell phone. How can you cut him down based on this shit????
ZR Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 I don't think you can put that much stock in that one short clip although I have heard /seen other accounts of his demise as of late. I find it sad if this is indeed the case but we all have free will and it's his life...and...Eddie's resume vs. your resume. What have you added to the world of rock guitar and music?
Abaco Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Man.....I'll just say this......anybody that slags Eddie really needs to do a check up from the neck up and rethink their words.....I dare anybody to be "him" and come out unscathed....and No...I never really worshipped at the alter of Eddie but....he really did turn what was known as guitar playing on it's head for a couple of decades...Rant off Oh yeah? Eddie's problems seem to be self-induced, but I don't know the man. And...I'm a fan. But, who would pity somebody who had so much? I agree that those crappy little clips don't mean much.
MCChris Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 it's like he's the Howard Hughes of guitar.I agree; he's a modern-day eccentric in a world where there are so few of them left.
RJoseph133 Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 I don't know about the rest of you, but I happen to get a wierd thrill out of Eddie self-imploding. Talk about a great rock-n-roll story. So he's always blasted. So his wife left him. So he can't keep his band(s) together. Let's face it; as incredible as he was, the guy really hasn't done anything worthwhile since the early '90's. Want proof? Listen to those past 4 "songs" Van Hagar recorded a few years back. I can't wait for all the books written about him after he croaks.
ZR Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 >>>>>>>>>>I don't know about the rest of you, but I happen to get a wierd thrill out of Eddie self-imploding.>>>>>>You hold up traffic to gawk at every bad accident, don't you?
iownit4 Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 I heard that Eddies been recording music for a porn movie !! I don't know if it's true ,but it would be cool to watch porn and here Eddie at the same time >> I guess
princeofdarkness56 Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 I think Eddie did re write how to play guitar and open the doors again to real guitar driven rock. It's just that I have very little sympathy toward anyone who throws it all away for booze and drugs. Especially in that business because there are so many bad examples from people who came before him. Hey I know guys that have had their wife leave them, have had major illnesses and business setbacks and they still get out of bed everyday trying to make this day better than the last one without the help of drugs and booze. And they do it with a whole lot less $$$ in their bank account.
Steve Haynie Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 It might be different when you can surround yourself with only "yes-men" so you do not have to listen to criticisms like those posted in this thread.
pesocaster Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 How about we just hope he can get his shit together ... if not for himself for his kid....
sirDaniel Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 he'll be just fine when his money runs out...like i said
