Matched quad of Mullard EL84s. I just scored these from fast ricky love over at TGP.. They went missing and FedEx can't even find a record of them! Investigation under way. Bummer!

Don't tell me that. They're supposed to deliver a Studio to my office tomorrow, and there's a blizzard comin'!

Why does ANYONE continue to use FedEx?

You know how I feel about FEDex.... Greg has shipped my Robin via fedex. There web site has not updated in two day about it & it say it was to be delivered today but it did not show. "F*CK FEDex".

I've used FedEx a lot and they haven't lost or broken anything.

I bought a guitar from BCRGreg many years ago and FedEx lost it. It eventually turned up in a warehouse in the Southwest or something. It was ridiculous, but the guitar eventually showed up in one piece.

They lost a set of speaker stands about 2 years ago, they said they delivered, and they were supposed to be signed for, my wife was home the whole day and didn't see anybody. I bought from Audioadvisor and they backed me up, and it got covered, but what a hassle.

I hope they show up, -major bummer!

I've heard so many horry stories about FedEx, I have never used them to ship a guitar. I used to use UPS, but to tell you the truth, I have the best luck with the Post Office.

What's with the Michael Vick's School for dog Obedience poster?

(Sorry for the hijack.)

I hope everything works out for everyone with packages in transit. Especially in the Midwest.

About a year ago they lost a $600 set of pipes for my motorcycle. But after waiting and asking and waiting and asking they finally located them (after the dealership ordered a replacement set haha). They were coming from Cali or Texas I can't remember which and sat in Jacksonville FLA for 2 weeks.

if you ship anything worth some $$$, use another insurance provider...dsi insurance, I think, is the one I have used...the insurance from fedex,ups,etc..will bring you 100 bucks usually.and that is IF you have dotted all the I's and crossed all the T's

...shipped a bunch of guitars and a few amps..no horror stories...YET

Blizzard is indeed happening, no Out For Delivery message yet on the FedEx tracking screen. That guitar will be in splinters by the time I get it on Monday.

ditto.....

their tracking system is abismol and the fact that their drivers are independent rather than

company emps bugs me. delivery until 9PM at night is a joke...communication between driver and expediting is lousy, the drivers never have the intl. paperwork with them that they need.

delivery times are almost always rescheduled.

theyve never lost or damaged anything of mine, I just dont like the operation as a whole.

unless someone provides me with their fedx account I wont ship with them.

I've never had any troubles with ups, though I have read horror stories here and there about

broken guitars etc.

I know my ups driver, and when he is in my area... I can contact him anytime if I am leaving for the day

with instructions so a guitar doesnt sit out in the rain or cold.

delivery times are for the most part on time.

I had 2 gmps come in about a month ago and they were shipped via DHL.

shipped ground on a monday and delivered on wednesday !!! new york to wisc !! wow !!....

with ups it wouldve been friday, fedx the following monday.

I was kind of paranoid when I found out both guitars were in one box... but all was fine.

I would consider using them in the future.

though the online tracking was crappy.

The FedEx/UPS/DHL argument is not unlike the Dunlop/Schaller argument with regard to straplocks. If you choose one and it never fails on you, then it's the cat's pajamas and there's no reason to stop using it. If and when it does fail, it's the worst thing ever and you switch to the other option.

There's nothing like personal experience to jam the point home if it goes bad. I do think that Fedex Ground tracking is a bit more flakey than UPS, but not by much.

Fedex Air is a different beast; pretty accurate. I bought something from a guy in Texas and he offered to Fedex Air it to me. I was a bit floored, but accepted (no extra charge). Wouldn't you know, the 5'1" delivery driver wouldn't drag the package to my door. I had to go to the truck and get it.

Alright, so it was an unloaded 4x12, but come on now!

My paychecks depended on FedEx for years. Only one package was misdelivered in in 17 years.

At one time I could call the local FedEx office from a number listed in the phone book. No more. Trying to reach a human being on the phone at FedEx is next to impossible now. You have to do something to tie up the phone system to get someone to figure out why you are there.

agreed 100%, but air is a totally different animal... all shippers have a set standard to follow...

so yes you would be getting better service and your package by a specified time.

as for strap locks...

schaller to dunlop comparisons borders protestant vs. catholic,

you just dont go there without a shit storm

1:49 PM, left FedEx location. I wonder what the chances are that it'll get here before the office closes.

If it left at 1:49 PM today, I'm betting Dunlops.

At 1:49 PM, the FedEx truck drove on by. Didn't stop ..... just kept on going.

Sure did, all the way out to LaGrange, Illinois. My guitar shall sit in a FedEx vehicle all weekend. Wonderful.
