Devnor Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 I cannot believe something that ugly came out of a USA Hamer factory.
atquinn Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 I cannot believe something that ugly came out of a USA Hamer factory.Agreed.-Austin
Jem Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Initially made for 'Maestro' Alex Gregory - Ed Roman's got the twin neck 7 and Mandolinything which i've actually played...obviously Mr Roman was out at the time Gregory twin neck
silentman Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 That must have been made at the same time as that hideously deformed lefty Mirage.
Feynman Posted July 24, 2008 Author Posted July 24, 2008 Hmmm - I think it looks good. I've never been known for good taste, though. If anything, I guess it looks like every other plain but nice SuperStrat out there, but I bet it's a really fine guitar. The model listings state it was made for just one year - does that artist build mean that it was made only in limited numbers (like 1)?Edited to add - OK , that doubleneck thingy is ugly.

Disturber Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Oouch, yes - that was u.g.l.y! And I hate 7 string guitars too.
Guest JackButler Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 I dig it. I'd play it. Toshi Iseda has one in his collection of seven string guitars as well. Was debuted the same time/year as Ibanez's Universe seven string model. Original differences between the two were that Ibby had a low B and Hamer's proto had a high A. Alex also had/has a cello tuned four string.
darc Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Rosewood board just looks wrong on both those guitars. IMO.
Stike Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Is there another guitarist on the planet any more pompous than Maestro AG?
Jem Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Is there another guitarist on the planet any more pompous than Maestro AG? More than likely mate, more than likely
veatch Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 This guy? Man, I learn so much here. Man. No offense to any fans, but there's no way i could sit through a full concert of that. It was cool for about a minute-twenty, then mostly annoying after that. And Sunshine of Your Love needs vocals when performed live. And Ice Cream Man Rules.

HamStd Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 I dig it. I think I know that guitar. Here are enough frets and notes to take care of the "cookie Monster singers" and all the dogs in the neighborhood!!! It might not be the prettiest Hamer out there, but it blows EVERY Ibanez 7 string that I have played away. Tom Anderson pickups, high A as Kevin noted, graphite saddles, no hang-ups so the trem is great to play, brazilian rosewood fingerboard, solid flamed maple body and it is a Hamer!!! This guitar was made for "The Maestro". He told me he had 4 guitars made for him and the doubleneck. He still has one, this one and Toshi has the other two (I believe one was made with two humbuckers) and of course Big Ed has the doubleneck (interesting story around that one that some of the old school HFC'ers might remember). Might not have been a big seller at the time, but it definitely has Hamer quality!!! Enjoy. Peter.
anotherfreak Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 OMG!tell me YOU have posession of that Virt?!?!?!?!?!?
cmatthes Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Thanks for sharing, Peter! That is one bad-assed Virt, btw...
Jeroen Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Maestro?? Geez......I shut it off within a 60 sec. It is like Jazz music...I can get used to it:(http://www.myspace.com/vinnyburns then i prefer this:)Jeroen
Zoner Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 Heh, he calls himself "Maestro"! I believe he was what the term "wanker" was created for. There is shredding, and then there is mindless wanking. That 7 foot tall doofus was playing a billion notes and saying...........absolutely nothing as far as I could tell. Wanker. Z
