Guest galejt Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Jazz is Dead, Laughing Water, a live CD that I cannot get enough of, Jimmy Herring is the guitarist and there are some tunes w/ Derek Trucks, amazing stuff +2 for JID!I wondered who that was on slide. In constant rotation finally supplanting my Kimock compilation (which is killer indeed). Can you recommend an Aquarium Rescue Unit CD?
Willie G. Moseley Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 ...an audio dub of King Crimson's live EYES WIDE OPEN DVD...SYMPHONIC YES...THE X TRACKS (Andy Summers)No offense, but the early post about getting re-acquainted with Molly Hatchet is a bit off the mark, as no one in the current band was an original member; Ingram and/or someone else "bought the franchise" so to speak. That being said, some of the recent material, particularly the live double CD, is pretty potent.

Nuclear Wessel Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Just got Streams and Currents by Steve Roach and I'm floating in the ether listening to it. Steve Roach?? Well hang on guys. This album has guitars!! Yes, the ambient/new age/electronic synth shaman is now using guitars to create his atmospheric soundscapes. Also recently got a couple of CD's by Lanterna. Sands and Elm Street. Anyone ever hear of Lanterna/Moon 7 Times/Henry Frayne? Henry Frayne creates these amazingly beautiful soundscapes with his guitar and delay and reverb units. Usually this is over a bass and drums. There are a couple of tracks on Sands that feature his guitar magic over an ambient/trance kind of groove. The effect is awesome. Those are among the best tracks on the disc.
serial Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 OK, thanks to Elduave and BroChris (actually it was Carlos' bending the crap out of his Tele), I've been hitting REPEAT on "Dim" by Dada over and over. And over.
